Need some troubleshooting help
ok guys, breaking down and asking the forum (haha)
TECIIIr car wont start. Pretty much narrowed it down to the primary injectors not working.
I bought the injectors fresh from RC (through a forum member whom i trust), has anyone ever had a problem with reman'ed 550's?
the computer was sent to tec to be checked out and they couldn't find any problems. The injectors see +12. The IGN system is verified to be working correctly, it's just not getting any fuel. Entire fuel system was disassembled and cleaned (a1000, -8 feed, -6 return, etc), it gets 40+ psi at the regulator. engine is new.
I pulled the injectors w/ rail connected and cranked, they didnt even spray any fuel when cranking.
I had sent the computer back because I initially thought it could be a firmware problem (the tecs are a bit sensitive when upgrading, thought i f'ed it up) but they couldn't find anything. The map is from a car w/ similar setup.
I am getting a set of 850's to plug in this weekend when i get a chance to work on the car. I tried to 'click' the injectors w/ a car battery, but i couldn't really tell if it was working, or if the clicks were just the sound of arcing when connecting the leads. I should have been able to feel it click.
I know i'm jumping the gun a bit here by posting before i can swap the injectors, just wanted to see if anyone could think of anything else i am overlooking. This is really starting to agrivate me, as i pretty much tore the car apart trying to figure out why it wouldnt run, thinking my 'new' injectors were fine
thanks
bobby

So the Tec3 is new in the car, it has never run with it before? I would double check your wiring to make sure you did it right if this is the first time. That seems kind of hard to believe you got two totally bad injectors. Have you tried checking the signal at the injector while cranking? Can you see it pulse on a meter?

no, the car has run (and run well) with this tecIIIr unit.
I havent checked for the pulse. will do on sat.
i might also try to pick up a crank angle simulator, makes this so much easier b/c you dont have to crank the car!
haha my post from 2am last night was funny, damn emotional drunks!

So you had 550's before and it worked? Don't think you'd need to change any settings in the TEC then.
Are you sure your cranking speed is good? TEC won't fire the coils or injectors if cranking speed is too slow. Might be worth it to jump a strong battery and see if that helps.
Or your injectors may be clogged.;-)
