need opinion on used t-78

need opinion on used t-78

what do you guys think a used t-78 turbo with 3k miles on it is worth??? the guy is asking 1k......is that a reasonable price? is this a bargain considering that i will later need to buy a manifold, wastegate etc. what do you guys think??

well I know there exspensive to rebiuld but I have never looked into a t-78 turbo itsself. If your going to peice a kit together then I wouldnt even bother going with the t-78. I think the garret t-70 is alomost the same size, maybe little bigger. Plus when the turbo fails you wont have to fork out 8-900 bucks to replair it.

T70 is much bigger. T78 is gonna cost a fortune to rebuild when the time comes. Stick with Garrett and turbonetics

Yep, forget Mitsubishi turbos. Most end up being some kind of Garrett hybrid anyway. Garrett all the way. T04S/T04R, T66, etc...
