recieved a t88, ordered a t78 what do i do?

somebody fucked up bigtime. I ordered a t78 kit from a dealer which will remain anonymous, after a couple weeks of bullshit and waiting around. I finally got the package. Instead of the t78, they sent me a t88 kit. I really do not have any time to wait and send this thing back, and wait for the t78, (it probably wont even be in stock). Should i just put this thing on and be happy i got a bigger turbo? I have no clue what to do. part of me is happy, part of me is really mad. how much worse for my car is this kit. I think i can deal with the lag, but what should i expect?

oh by the way, this isnt a moral issue about whether i should take something that i did not pay for, because they probably charged me for it anyways. Im not worried about the money.

I've heard there is some serious lag with a T88. For me a T78 had enough lag but is very streetable. I've only been looking at dyno comparison sheets to stipulate on this matter. I would like to see what someone that actually has a T88 has to say.

Also, the T88's efficiency range is way out there. I'm not sure at what boost it becomes efficient but it is out of the range of 93-91 octane. In upwards of 20+ psi. Hope this helps.

I think they use the same manifold? Maybe you can call around speed shops in your area to trade.

They do use the same manifold but with the T88 you will need to cut the side of your lower intake manifold off which will require some tig welding. This kind of a pain but it's necessary for fitment.

Yeah and then you sold the fucked T88 kit to a rather nice girl in chicago, after you blew your motor.

trash talk aside, why is this even an issue? call the unnamed dealer and tell them what's wrong. After you figure out your options, then decide.

Hell, it's just like a ******* shirt. Recieved wrong item, return item, get correct item. I mean, what would you do if you got an apple instead of an orange at the grocery store? "hey uh i wanted an apple"
"oh sorry here you go"

I already have called them and they tried to get me to keep it, i told them i wanted to return it so, it looks like that is what is going to happen. The only thing is now i may have to wait another month to get the turbo, becuase they dont have it in stock. I think im gonna return it and have them credit my credit card and just buy the t78 from another dealer that has it in stock. This sucks cuz i was looking forward to have this car done before it starts to get shitty weather, i wanted to at least drive it before winter hits.

What did they charge you for the T-88? If they only charged you for the T-78, keep it you got a good deal.

parts will break alot easier with the 88 then 78, also make sure you clutch is up to task, you'll go through them alot quicker and tires as well.... and on pump the 88 sucks, unless you plan on race gas all times

T-88 All the way!!!
Use two big bottles of the NAWS to spool it up. It isn't that much worse then the already laggy T-78.
