Man ive got to watch your outcome your setup is almost like mine except you have more inj and fuel. And t78 over my 62-1.

How are you vented catch can or what, it can push alot of blow by at that level.
I run vented catch can and exhaust scavinge venturie. With just the exhaust system it pucked oil in the exhaust and killed bugs for miles!

Good luck and post results.

vented!

well dont forget we both have done 500 on pump but anything after that and its pushing it. I made 520 @ 18lbs, the 17lbs pull where i made 478 we stopped the pull at 6800rpms. what kind of injectors you got???

Yeah those als seals are nearly indestructable! just bend them back

850's and 1600's but im at the end of the 62-1 or pretty close anyway. To go up in h/p would mean turbo/inj/race gass or meth inj im just not sure i want the head ache.

Its always tempting though isn't it.

I guess im going to Texas 2k9 with a supra buddie, hes wanting me to take the rx7 with his stroked GT4788 cammed corn feed Supra but im a little chicken.

Anyway good luck and im waiteing to see the outcome.

setup looks pretty good. What port?

Also, what boost level do you think you'll need to hit with that 78 and will the intercooler keep the air cool enough?

Let me know if you go and it might be worth the tralior trip. I have free room with the supra guys, seems i also help them build there cars. And 700 h/p is a low boost set up for the guys going down from here.
One is a twin turbo ls1 basied 1600h/p supra.

Theres suposed to be a strip club in Huston thats killer and at 60 years old it might just do that!

Let me know!

very big street port that makes it idle like a bridge.

CONSIDERING the fact that i made around 510 at 17-18lbs im thinking ill have to be at least around 25-26lbs.

there was a guy with a gt40 that made 617 at 26lbs with a gt40 and the t78 is a tad bigger by a little bit.

I will say one thing zinx. This turbo might be old & low for spool. But when the T78 spools it seems to last forever, after 3400 the power curve doesnt go down, even after 8000rpm the power curve still rises! btw mine is custome made as well!

BUSTED if everything works out in late january ill be there with ya, nice to have some fd owners with me. but i know they have hennessey there as well

Those are nice numbers man.
If you want to up the power, you MUST go with an injection system of some sort, whether water or meth. There's really nothing to it... no headaches at all, very simple to install. What WILL become a headache is not having the power you really want/detonation due to not having the cooling properties of AI!

Seriously though... AI would be the way to go, along with perhaps a two piece E-shaft and studs if you really want to make the power. We made 620 on pump at a VERY conservative tune and maxed out the 1000/1680's. This was at 24 psi. 700 would be no problem on pump... maybe even 800, so long as you have the 2 piece E-shaft and studs.

Depending on your port, I would imagine you could hit 600 at 22-24 psi.... on pump. Your dyno at 510-518 is right about on par.
This would of course be with an AI kit of some sort. AI will more than cool the charge temps, much more than any IC could. We're using an Ebay intercooler, which outperformed the Greddy on the previous setup.
Just make sure you've got some sort of AI, a good tune, and you'll be set.

Replying to Zinx's question, referring to you... If you're making 510+ on pump at that psi, it would seem you're right on track to make 600 around 22-24

You too can make 700+ hp with the 13B, on pump, with the supporting mods....

2 piece shaft for increased rigidity over the stock eccentric shaft. At 650-700 rwhp the stock E-shaft begins to flex, which will cause engine failure.

You'd be surprised of what the T78 is capable of. Here's a vid of my buddy's FD about 4 years ago going 10.1's on a T78. That is one bad *** turbo. He did it in a full bodied FD, no lightening, full body kit, no skinnies and the car was heavy!!!! He ended up going 10.0@140 with a T78.

I would say you need a Mazdaspeed PPF or just any reenforced PPF. Also prob an upgraded differential. Poly motor mounts. Torque Brace.

Achieving that power is one thing. Being able to transfer it to the wheels safely and repeatedly without breaking other parts is what you need to worry about.

an aluminium driveshaft will also help a bit
and 1600cc primary injectors is an overkill

Get rid of the single plate clutch.
It will be fine for dynos and light street driving, will most likely die quickly after some hard abuse(burnouts, drag racing etc).

Get a twin plate.

Also unless your tuning on e85, get rid of the 1600cc primaries. TOO BIG.

Other then that looks like your set.

I don't know. I've had my ACT 6 puck for almost 5 years and its still holding strong. Lots of street driving and probably a 100 or so launches at the track on ET streets with many in the 1.5x range.

I guess you wouldnt be making the power we are down here.

Obviously our dyno figures here are completely different.

But 600rwhp down here will get you mid to low 8s on the drag strip and no single plate clutch i know off will tolerate it.

True, i am about 90 rwhp off of 600, so i can't speak to 600 rwhp and the tq that it brings.

i have a 6puck clutch thats been on my car forever, never had problems. im getting the t56 tranny from the pontiac gt0. and i have a transmission brace & torque brace & cromoly 3000mm axle so as far as the track im straight. i just want to make sure as far as engine, electrical, power wise im ok before i go to the dyno!

honestly i dont care about the dragstrip. as long as i can trap 140 in the quarter

p.s. im keeping those 1600cc primarys, i dont want to hear anyone complain on how i dont have enough fuel

a zinx you still have the t88??
