Unhappy need help! tons of backfire

I posted one like this in the 3rd gen section but no help so far there.. I have a single so i thought I would post here too.. I'm geting tons of back fire.. so much that I cannot move my car 10 feet.. I dunno what could be causing it.. Could it be bad plugs.. and it's not firing and causing the engine to flood a little... i dunno.. I recently had problems with the engine eating coolant but I used some block seal and it appears to be fine for the moment.. And it is back fire thorugh the exhaust and not through the intake... My whole apt. smells like fuel now.. Kinda of a good smell.. hehe to me anywayz... any suggests or help would be great...

what mods are you running? i had the same thing happening to me on my TII i was running a straight pipe all the way through no cats, FMIC, BOV, intake and ecu and i was getting flames out the exaust after id accelerate hard and even in between shifts if a hit the gas hard enough..i actually thought it was pretty cool. i never experienced any engine problems with this and i learned how to control when i flamed..incase i wanted to flame on somone who wanted a piece of my 7. well as for your case i dont really have any idea whats going on..maybe a little more info and i could give an opinion or some advice. my car flamed because i was running the car a little on the rich side.

running mp, apex gt , greddy t-78 setup... Might sound crazy but i'm running stock ecu for the time being.. Waste gate is open so it leaks boost... Highes i take it before shifting is 2.5k so rpm stay extremely low so I won't reach full boost... I've driven around like this fine for a few days until the damn water leak. When i try to reverse or even go forward.. car begins to back fire.. like it's choking on fuel.. Idles ok but low... and it feels like sometimes it misses when firing.. Everything was fine before the car was leaking coolant into the engine.. I use block seal since then and i'm losing no coolant thus far... it's only been a couple of days though. I"m getting alot of smoke.. but not hthick clouds... light more or less. Could the spark plugs have been damged during the water leak.. I notice when draing my oil it was black and smelled like fuel.. (drained it last week and put new oil in) draind the new oil this week and its dark brown... looks better than the first bacth.. now i have new oil in there filter etc.. but i can't get my car to move without all the hesitation and backfiring.... thats all I can think of... What more info do you guys want...

go over your T-78 install to make sure you didnt forget to connect certain sensors such as the TPS,MAP,injectors, ACV and neccessary stock ecu components...while your at it ground the TEN lead in your diagnoisis connector to see if yoour pulling a "code"

good luck!

I was having a problem like that and it turned out to be a loost spark plug wire !! , you can also try re-setting your computer and also vave a giagnostic check done.

Make sure you have the plug leads going to the correct plugs!

Your engine eating the coolant prob cause your plugs to foul. I'd pull them and see how it looks. You prob need to replace them

Good luck,
STEPHEN
