Yeah, I made a mistake and messed up the price. Price is 750 for now but will be going up to 850 shortly.

Holy ****, $2,200 for the kit INSTALLED????? That's insane coupled with a 2 year warranty! I know where I am going for my new turbo.

BTW, how much is it for the kit excluding the installation?

It's pretty much already a done deal considering I live near Chicago as well!

Hasn't that article been proven to be in error in the meantime.....
Also the fact that the car in that picture is running an SS Autochrome manifold which would be the root cause for the cheap price?

Oh well, that is still better than 850, I thought it was changing over on the first. Any idea how much longer it will stay this price? I was planning on ordering early next week.

I could not tell if the manifold was a megan or SS autochrome the picture was not at that great of an angle. Also IIRC correctly that engine was out the the bay. Meaning that either 1. the owner of the car had given rxtuner the pic or 2. it was just another random pic with an example of how the turbo looked on the car. Either way...eh

Not to mention the cost of the machining and thread hole repair which isnt easy on housings.

Yeah okay Mr. Dyno Queen

Now run it and back up those "claimed numbers"

My immature crap? Did you not try and take a open stab at Davinci at the top of the page? Do you have a credible source that says the turbo doesn't perform or that they use such and such manifold? Exactly!

Maybe it doesn't matter that whether it's $750 or $1750. Given his mods, is the af61 a better choice than the three he listed, for his goals?

I've recently replaced a T-62 non-ball bearing P-Trim with a T-61 BB Q-trim. the difference is utterly amazing. The 61 is well matched for the rotary. I bought it through MZM Performance and had them tune the car. MZM bought it from Turbonetics. We had to tune on the road, but I will have dyno #s before the end of the month. MZM tuned a stock block FD with this same T-61 that ran an 11.2 @ 126. I will never, NEVER go back to a non-ball bearing turbo. Never, ever!!!

Dude they said they don't remember the car being tuned by them and the pic in the article is obvious but here you go. My buds Davinchi/bistate customs manifold, pictured next to my old T3 manifold. Needless to say he wound up selling it and getting one like mine. Notice the reworked mig welds designed to "strengthen" the manifold . The same manifold in these threads.(below) Sorry dude everything about you is questionable lets see..... Is it Lupe..er..Peco Gonzales..er...Gargamel...er...Resource. How Many names do you have bro? ...er.. Davinchi...Bi-state customs...D&R motorworks. Why keep changing the business name?? What's to hide from?? New guys on here my not know your games, old guys do. Maybe they actually make their own parts now. But I'll see it when I believe it. People need to learn how to use the search button.
I'm out, I hope their new customers aren't let down like their old ones. Flame away this forum is getting so lame lately. You can't post anything anymore without people starting shitfests all I said was the articles info was questioned and stated to not be accurate. You turned it into this crap when you mentioned my 35r was a piece of crap... hence the immature comment.

Ball bearing, non-ball bearing, yada yada yada. Its all preference people... I've spoke to certain RELIABLE individuals who's names are very well known on this forum for the work they do... and they've been surprised on the performance of Davinci's turbo... I could careless if they were called crapass autosports - if they put out a good product and I've heard good things... and the source is reliable... then sure.. I'll go with it.

The GT35r compared to the AF61r has about the same power output... spool time is not too shabby either. But when you compare price to replace, repair, or warranty... the AF61r has the GT35r smoked. Davinci offers 2 year warranty, 15psi at 3700RPM and a 82% efficiency at 18PSI, that is $850.

Get into the GT35rT4 and you're looking at $1200+ and repair is going to cost you an arm and a leg... might as well get a new turbo.

IMO - the turbos are both good, the AF61r is a larger turbo than the 35r, but the 35r has a leg up cause of ball bearing. Either way, the compressor maps are very similar and both turbos can push good numbers. I went with the AF61r because of cost, reliability, good references, warranty, and I've not heard a single complaint about it.

Whether or not there are **** talkers on this forum... fact is fact, and the AF61r is a badass turbo... the damn thing was designed for the RX-7's exhaust flow... how the hell do you think you get 15psi @ 3700RPM WITHOUT ball bearing... it was MADE for a rotary.

It's all preference people, you, him, her, it, can spend their money wherever they damn well choose... I think it's good to hear the ups and downs. I didn't mind 15psi @ 5500RPM on my old setup... some people can't stand the lag... some people like it that way. All in all the only way to find out what you like is to try it out... people can say whatever they want, but it's not going to change your mind much if you don't like how the turbo performs.

Just my $.02

YOU ARE DEFINITALLY OUT...OUT OF YOUR MIND! WE HAVE USED THE SAME PHONE NUMBER AND HAVE ONLY HAD 2 DIFFERENT ADDRESSES IN THE LAST 5 YEARS AND THE ONLY REASON FOR THE NAME AND CHANGE WAS BECAUSE WHEN WE BOUGHT OUT THE PREVIOUS OWNER HE WANTED TO KEEP HIS ALREADY EXISTING NAME, THE ADDRESS CHANGE WAS MADE WHEN WE MOVED TO OUR NEWER LOCATION. THE D&R NAME CHANGE IS A NOW A SEPERATE BUSINESS OWNED BY DAVINCI LLC.

I'm not even looking at the rest of this thread, but I keep hearing people say how you have to replace the whole CHRA when if you blow your motor, not true. If I have the wheels available, (ie. In stock) I have replaced just the turbine wheel. It costs no more than replacing a turbine wheel. Just want to clarify.

Well my misunderstanding... I guess thats why all the turbo repair shops around here won't touch them, or say they are too damn expensive.... maybe they are just lazy =p
