need advice on a garrett upgrade.

hey guys im not to clear on the specs of a aftermarket turbo. was wanting to upgrade the stock turbo.
im running a 88 turbo 2 with a big street port and megasquirt standalone with 550c primarys and 1000 secondaires at the moment with a 2 core front mount.

was thinking of a turbo that would get me at the 300-350 hp range and not a lot of lag i like the quick spool of the stock turbo.
was looking at this turbo but want to get some more insight on a possable setup. i do want to retain a internal wastegate also. thanks guys.

This might be a little better.

If this could make your power I bet it would spool ridiculously fast.

Have you seen these guys? Elliot at Turblown is very knowledgeable and will answer any of your questions. The health of your engine and exhaust size will be big factors in spool time of any turbo you choose. Are you setting up for an autox application?

Do you have the budget for a new manifold, intercooler, engine management, etc?

if your only looking for 300-350 then I think a T04e with a mid-sized hot side, say .84, would work well for your application.

I have one now and I make 314whp at 13psi. Great response, Full boost by 3500rpms, not too large, and depending on the trim a T04e should max out at around 400hp so you always have some spare room if you get a lil boost sick
