Name that turbo!

So a bit of back story. A while back a friend of mine bought a turbo as a core to rebuild under the impression that it was a Garrett GT35. His plan was to rebuild it and slap it on his RX.

I bought the car and he gave me the turbo with it. I haven't really looked at it as I was going to use my taxes to buy a new one. After getting the shaft from the IRS I pulled it out of the box and upon inspection I have no idea what turbo this is. If someone could help identify it I would be quite happy.

Inducer 3"

compressor out 2"

I can't spot a T3 or T4 by eye so the flange is: 4.25" by 2.75"

turbine outlet is a 5bolt waste gate setup w/o the gate.

Compressor housing does say Garrett but that's all that identifies it. It's a water/oil setup so I'm assuming its a ball bearing rig.

I'll throw up some pics as soon as my camera charges. Didn't know if the info provided would be enough for someone.

That is no GT35R. A GT35R would be 4.0inlet, 2.5outlet on compressor side and it would have a wider inlet flange into hotside and a V-band or 4 bolt downpipe flange.

What you have there is a T4/T3 hybrid. the front is T04E or something of the sort and the rear is T3. You would want two of these at least on your car, not one.

If you want more info, post a pic and you will get more help.

^^ He hit the nail on the head, some sort of T3/T4 deal with most likely a T04E compressor and T3 turbine. Too small, if you really want to know exactly what you have you'll have to post pics AND pull the compressor and turbine housings off and measure the wheels. BTW, the turbo INLET on the compressor HOUSING is NOT an INDUCER. The inducer would be what you see in the inlet, the actual compressor blades or the minor wheel diameter of the compressor. It would be the opposite on the turbine wheel, were the major diameter is the inducer and the minor diameter is the exducer.
