NA vs Turbo

Can someone explain to me the differences and advantages of NA vs Turbo?

I'm so sorry Rich...I really, really couldn't let that one go and will accept any punishment you feel necessary without complaint.

N/a engine is like non-alocholic beer.

Turbos are like meth.

Mr Gringo, I was thinking of doing the same thing after reading the other thread.

I too would be interested to find out the differences between the two.

The NA goes "brap brap brap" and the Turbo goes "pshhhhhht". The other differences are insignificant.

I know on na motors you can get instant response, torque...turbo has to spool to feel the power

An N/A engine will suck air into the Intake.
A Turbo Engine will suck small animals into its intake!

N/a engines can go reliably without knock sensors. And turbo engines can't keep from grenading them selves with out a knock sensor.=p

I got some Delo 400 15w40 oil yesterday. Never used it before but I read it has better bearing protection than all recent gasoline oils ranging from 0w20 to 20w50.

Na motors are very limited, but are easier to work on as well as not blowing up as easily, the biggest disadvantage is they take a lot more money to get to the 200+ HP mark (stock 146 HP 86-88, 160 HP 89-91)

Turbos are close to 200 HP stock and get power way easier (stock 180hp 87-88, 190hp 89-91), however get worse gas mileage and will blow up easier if not properly modded and maintained.

The end

PS. You can get that brap, brap, brap from any rotary, its from the engine being ported, the more extensive the porting is the more brap there will be.

In order from smallest to largest (streetport, half bridge, Bridgeport, j port, peripheral port)

Rotary >Pistons

people would be a lot closer to 200rwhp NA if they started with a turbo block...
