motor mount ?

I'm pulling my motor and it has the original motor mounts. I figure since it's out might as well replace the mounts. Any suggestions on were to get them and how much? Can you upgrade to stiffer ones? Thanks

Yeah i just buoght a set from them..(rotorsportsracing.com) damn fast with shipping and was great to deal with... 140 a piece 75 dollar core charge a peice.. refundable upon return of cores. Lokos good and solid.. car not done yet , so i can't till you how it rides or squicks.. (butmy care is rather loud already so I a m not conern with noise Vibrations may be a problem since it's stiff.. but i was getting bad vibrations because i had one bad mount.

good luck.

My rotorsportsracing mounts were quite stiff when I first put them on. They caused quite a bit of vibrations. After about two weeks of driving everyother day they softened up quite a bit. After about two months they feel like stock but the engine is rock solid.

I put solid alluminium ones on and they arn't bad at all. Better weight transfer for drag racing too. A friend of mine made mine out of alluminium stock. They are the same ones you pay $250 for from RX7.com......what a rip. It would cost about $50 to make your own.

For those of you who have bought the rotorsports urethane mounts...do they actually bolt to the subframe? If you look at the pictures of the mounts on their website, the mounts don't seem to have the bolt that goes through the subframe. Look here:

http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/products2175.html

Is this picture not correct, or do they really not connect to the subframe? Thanks.

Yes they have the bolt you just can't see it from those photos. They work great by the way.

Machinehead, thanks for the info. I pulled my engine this week and found my driver's side motor mount was broken, so I was hoping to upgrade. With your info, I'll probably go ahead and order the mount.

One thing, you can feel the vibration, I mean don't get me wrong, the difference is noticable, especially when you are taking off from a stop, but it does not bother me at all. But the difference when you shift under heavy load is incredible, especially the 2-3 shift, plus they are cheaper than the stock ones and they won't break like the stock ones. I replaced one stock mount, then the other one went bad and I said screw this and got the urethane mounts and I am happy.
