modding the primary rail to 850cc

I'm in Europe so when it comes to custom work I do it myself.

I was wondering if anybody has got sole info on how to mod the primary rail to fit the sec 850 cc injectors.

Thanks

Set it up in a mill, indicate to make sure the surface is perfectly flat and take .125" or 3.175mm right off the top. Takes about 10 minutes.

off the top, you mean the side that is pushing the injectors into the holes right?

If this is a street driven car, I wouldn't recommend running 850cc primaries with the PFC.

-aaron, if I understand you correctly no, not off the top pieces, the actual fuel rail itself.

Why? Other than getting the idle set/tuned right what other reason?

If you can't get your car to idle with 850 cc primaries you might want to have someone else tune your car...

Wrong... this issue has been 'discussed' many times, but always in words. Never in pictures. So if somebody can post a picture "where" the modification needs to be done

I'm a practical guy... you see

I dont have the time to go look myself, but I am sure every post on the topic says "the top". Taking a second to think about it... the primary injectors are longer than the secondary... needing to sink the injectors into the rail further to reach the bottom , you would need to relieve what is "stopping" the new shorter one from reaching... so... mill the top an 1/8th of an inch.

Just for your viewing pleasure, I took a picture of the TOP of the primary rail.

Low speed cruise and idle afr have been to rich in my experience only on the PFC. If there is a way around this I would like to know.

I've been doing it with 850cc and even a few 1000cc pri for a long time with no issues. Hint: play with the injector lag on the right side of setting 5.

finished product.

This is what it needs to look like. (picture from my archive).
I used an electric sander and some 80 grit and it worked fine no need for a mill.
