Question Max boost without intercooler

Im thinking of putting a jap spec 12a turbo engine in my fb,what is the max boost i can run without a intercooler on the stock turbo?.I have searched but didn't come up with a lot of info,thanks Roy uk.

Well ya know, u can run a turbo without an intercooler, however it's not recomended. If you ur goin' single turbo, might as well as go all the way. Anyways, I think u can run as much boost as u want without the intercooler. You just won't get as much power or response from the car.

please dont do that . i am not shure how big the turbo is on those but ,i think about 6-7 psi max ,
without intercooler it gets real dangerous , you could detonate and harm the engine

Well. You didn't find info because nobody does this. Just put an intercooler and don't worry.

There *is* info, the info is 9psi is about the limit of the stock 12AT.

Forgot where I found that little nugget of information...

There is no easy answer, as it depends on many factors, such as:

The octane rating of your fuel (SON is more accurate, followed by MON, PON, and then RON).

The ambient weather conditions (temperature, pressure, and humidity).

The condition of your engine.

The engine's ignition timing.
