Yeah, you mis-calculated the final rpm by a whole 300rpm.

I'm with Ryde or Die. I was waiting for the flame war to start after that question. But I guess there are still some nice guys left on the forum.

Also, I'd like to know how much that T-66BB cost from Innovative if you don't mind telling us. Thanx in advance.

Zach

Hey, he said he was a newbie, and that's a totally valid question. It's not like some supposed genius trying to say that his Tesla supercharger is so great when he doesn't even know how an internal combustion engine works, or like some EMS developer trying to say that his budget EMS with 500rpmx16load point resolution is better than a Motec, or some kid with a hammer and a screwdriver getting pissed at me for telling him that he can't wedge a 20B into his car for $50. Don't try and ruin my Evil reputation!

Seams low for that turbo. How is your timing and a/f ratios? I put down 430 to the wheels at 15-16 psi with my gt 35/40.

Re: LOOK! T66 Dyno Chart

From comparing the MPH numbers I see in my FD, it looks like your dyno sheet is from 4k to 7.5k in 4th gear. Is this correct?

That explains why the torque curve looks so incredibly flat - it's in the powerband of the turbo!

Tuning looks good (conservative), but the output is more what one would expect to see out of pump gas at that level with that turbo and a large street port.

Allen, is this the first high horsepower single turbo Scott has tuned? I know when he made his attempt at tuning mine he was pretty new at the game. If everything is in order with the engine (remember that burning as much oil as you are - ??1 to 2 quarts a week??- will dilute the mixture substantially) and you are willing to let him test out the effect of advancing the timing with the 100 octane fuel you are running, you should expect to see an additional 40-50 rwhp at the same pressure level.
Cordially,
John

The car finally made it to the dyno today. It performed up to my expectations.

At 16 psi, 410 rwhp, 311 tq. I was running 100 octane. Important mods are in the sig. Numbers are SAE corrected.

What do you guys think? Obviously, I would like to run more boost, but that will come in time...I may keep the FC Vert as the daily driver and the FD as the weekend warrior but who knows...that will be at least a year down the road.

the reason everyone thinks this is low is because scott never takes anything to the limit or even close....hes afraid to somthing will let loose and he will be stuck with the bill. i bought a car from a guy that was services exclusively at maz sport... when i started taking things apart. i found bolts missing random nust under the manifold and even a 10mm socket.

Lucky that same Y scales for tq and hp were used. this means 93 mph is 5252 rpm (at the intersection of the 2 curves). Also know zero mph is zero rpm, in any gear. Simple scaling provides:

_75 mph = 4235 rpm
_93 mph = 5252 rpm
130 mph = 7342 rpm

or

rpm = mph x 5252/93 = 56.473 X mph

While out joyriding in my FD, Scott sheared a number of the teeth off of the main transmission gear. I was threatened with a mechanics lein when I balked at paying to fix his damage.

No, Scott would never allow himself to be stuck with a repair bill, even if he was the source of the damage.

With respect to tuning, he is conservative because he does not have much experience with high horsepower cars.
