Running a GT42R with 1.22 a/r exhaust housing on my 13b here in the United Kingdom.Ports are major extend,60mm wastegate,2 x 850cc,2 x 1600cc,2 x Bosch 044 pumps,power fc.Turbo makes 14psi at around 3800rpm and positive pressure around 2000rpm from memory.Last dyno run it made 461rwhp at 1.2 bar (17 psi), inj duty was around 80%.That was on a DynaPak dyno,one that bolts to hubs.Stock 4.1 diff,GURU Motorsport circuit dog box so fwhp approx 530bhp.
Engine blew on dyno due to fuel pump failure,going PP now with custom intake,100mm throttle body.Still learning about rotaries here in the UK,alot of people are afraid of them,no real guru's which means it costs triple the amount and takes 10 times as long to get anywhere.
Would love a full tube tubbed FD or rx3 to stick the new motor in,working on tubbing the rear of present FD,car stripped ready to be cut up!!!!!!!!!!

Will speak to engine builder (Hayward Rotaries) to clarify porting.He calls it MAJOR EXTENDED,you perhaps use a different name?Will also try and scan dyno sheets,bhp,lbs/ft,boost against rpm so you can see properly.This is a massive learning curve for us here,getting good honest feedback from people like yourselves who find its second nature is real good for us.We want to show people here in the UK that rotaries kick ****,the rotary scene here is growing,could be huge(hopefully),just need some 9-10 sec drag racers out there.

I wonder how soon I'll get that boost with my half bp and the larger 102mm compressor wheel. ?
Now do the GT42R's have a BB center section? For some reason I thought they were all journal bearing turbos.
If it is a BB center then a half bridge would spool up nice and fast. What A/R are you going to have on your GT42R Marcel??

Yes the "R" in the name denotes the roller bearing CHRA , I havent decided yet , but I may go back with the 1.22 a/r if it is available . I have only seen 1.15 and 1.35 (?) options so far.!
With it being a BB center then I know you'll be able to spool it pretty quick with a nice half bp. Of course pretty quick for a turbo that big could easily mean 4000-4500.
Still though, if you aren't shifting until 9K then that's still ungodly!!
K1HK, I'm glad to hear that the rotary is getting bigger in the UK. I thought it was already pretty popular over there though. It seems that I run into a ton of UK guys when I surf the NoPistons forum. Where in England are you??

I got to see Xcessives FD when i went to talk to Chris at GT Garage (a really good place to get your work done by the way, in the same building as Pineapple) but that this is so awesome. The intake was big enough to fit a fist into. It was awesome. I also liked how the blow off valve was none functional. That car is awesome!!!!
South East near Felixstowe container port.There is a big following here in the UK,just seems to be a lack of people wanting OR willing to push the boundaries,too worried about it all going wrong,not being able to afford the rebuild i suppose.Ive been trying for 4 years now,4 engines later,still havent got there yet but its coming or seems to be anyway.
So it's pretty much a T51SPL but with the nice GT technology huh? Sounds like a total winner!! I can't wait to see how she does for you Marcell. Did you ever get that mess with your tranny straightened out??

Yep . fixed that , tried to do some tuning only to find that my twin 35mm wastegates couldn't controll the turbo ! , every thing would be fine till about 6500 rpm's where it goes from abour 12psi to 21 psi !!, presently I my motor is out so that I could do a redesign of my manifold (have to pull the motor to get access ) . I may even change to the new 44mm gates.

My partners car is running a similar set up with chargecooler and a .72AR twin entry com cover.Engine is secondary bridge with large street primaries.

If set up correctly it could potentially be much better than an air to air. If you can get a dependable pump and associated equipment, you could get the same intake temperatures (with the correct surface area), with less internal volume to compress as the turbo loads up, it should have almost no lag from pressurizing the intake path.
An A/C one would be pretty tricky as well, though it would be a lot harder to control because the stock components in the FD cant deal with temperatures that low from what I hear.

There's a lot more to those setups than there are to a normal air to air IC. I have heard great things about the water to air IC's when properly setup though. And hopefully if the development keeps going in the direction it's going in now you'll see something even better soon. An IC smaller than that water to air but will give you 34-40 degree intake temps reguardless of ambient temp. That design is still in prototype though.

The thing about a water to air is for it to work better than a air to air on the street you would need a huge heat exchanger and there just isnt much room for it, the IC, the pump and lines, plus a large reservoir if you REALLY want it to work good at the track.
Great for drag racing though, dump some ice water in the reservoir and go.
