Just a FYI: Borg Warner S475 Turbo

Say you wanted to order a Borg Warner S475 but your dealer couldn't identify with the "S475". You'll want to give them the part number 171702.

That's because there is no such thing as a S475 in BW's books You give the specs to say someone like me (not implying you should) and we then order the build. You can't just order a S400, it's like going to a Chevy dealer and saying "I want a chevy." Sure they have them but what one are you wanting. Just give those specs to your supplier, truth is all you need to say is S400 75mm inducer on the comp, 96mm inducer on the turbine. 1.32 T6 I think you may find the 1.10 a bit more appealing but that is me.

Who's these people? The people I know don't run that version, well not anymore and have not for a very long time now.
Looks can be very deceiving.
Sean hit it on a nail though.

OH ****!!!! Borg Warner makes turbos too???

I think Chris is referring to a larger group of "people". They all run the SXXX instead of the SXXX because the XXX has a XXmm wheel that normally wouldn't fit in a SXXX housing without modifications. Thus making it a non off the shelf turbo. But you could just run the ZXXX turbo, it is half the price and twice as gooder.
