i call those people trolls, since usually they don't even have anything positive at all to add. i may harass people but i still will usually give some direction to head in.

i would use the HX40 but you will need some serious upgrades to support it and check the hot side snail to be sure it matches what others running the Holset on a rotary are running. i have no experience with those turbos but many people have been using them with decent results.

but considering a cheap already prefabbed up chinese turbo manifold is about a hundred bucks, i would save the headache completely and sell the n/a manifold if that's really the direction you want to head in. problem you will run into is clearance with the n/a lower intake, you don't see anyone making manifolds for them due to space constraints which limit the size of any turbo you mount in that space. easiest way around this is pick up a turbo lower and upper intake and port match it to fit the 6 port block, then you have all the room you want to put most any turbo in there.

benefit of the cheap manifolds is, if it fails you just replace it. 6-10 times compared to what some people want for custom manifolds..

Every HX40 has the same 76mm/64mm turbine

HX40 compressors can be (inducer/exducer):

6-blade : 56mm/86mm or 60mm/86mm

7-blade : 60mm/86mm

8-blade : 58mm/83mm or 60mm/83mm

Most I have seen are enternaly gated and generally run 30+ psi of boost. Plus the exhaust A/R is generally pretty small. If you choose to run this unit these are some of details you would need to figure out. I have swapped a few of these around on Trucks.

Check out the Holset HE351ve. It uses the 7 blade 60mm inducer HX40 compressor, but has a variable geometry exhaust housing. It's electronically controlled, but there is a mechanical lever under the controller. There are tons of people adapting wastegate actuators, springs, ect to control it. Best part is they're cheap on Ebay. It pumps 69 lb of air, too.
