Injector types and sizing
Injector types and sizing
More questions!
I am now sourcing some injectors. I don't like the idea of altering the stock units, is it possible to run the secondaries in the primary rail, and use Bosch injectors (1400 CC seems right from the web based calcultor I found), in the secondary location? Does anyone do a rail to run Bosch injectors in the secondary rail? I can handle the impedance mismatch as I now realise why my Motec supplier said I need an M800, as the M4 ecu won't handle different impedance primaries and secondaries. I will be running a TO4 size turbo, aiming for around 420 / 450 flywheel HP.
Thanks. Any other info on injector mixing and matching appreciated, such as how and when the stock ecu brings them into play et cetera.

I'm in the same boat. www.k2rd.com has the moded fuel rail for the 2nd gen for about $100 US with a core.
If you're using the stock ECU, you don't want to run that big an injector in your secondary rail. Huge stumbles when they come online.

Thanks for the reply.
Chris, you need to mention what year car you have when you post in here. You can fit up 1300cc injectors in the secondary rail from what I have seen. And that can be had from http://www.kr2d.com like the above post stated.
I have not seen or worked with 850cc primaries, but it is semi common among people. I wonder if the bolt right up the the 'primary fuel rail'. Of course the FD secondaires would not fit right in the primary location, but I believe it is the FC injectors that work. Like I said, I have not dealt with this, so my information isn't completely accurate.
Sucks that you have to pay attention to injector impedence. Bosche will have all the information for you.
You can run 550/1300 or 850/1300 or 550/1600 injector combinations without any problems. Just a matter of you setting up the transistion smoothly.
