Injector Diffusers
Hi all,
I am up grading to single, and also upgrading my fuel system. The plan is to go for 1680cc sec and 850 pri. 50-65 psi fuel pressure, and boost in the 17psi range on a to4r a/r 1.00
I plastic coated my engine and manifolds. Should these deffusers be re installed?:
I heard that they do like to crack and be pulled into the engine.I had in mind of eliminating the primary and secondary ones... am i making sense?
Thanks.
Whats your opinion.... what are your setups?

i took mine out.... they cracked taking them out and i had to pull the intake manifold off, and found it resting on the rotor, if the rotor was turned about 30 degreese it would have been in the block and i would have had to disasemble the whole thing..
anyways, i didnt use them, and the car runs normal.

Holy smokes. I was just wondering this. I was installing my seconday fuel rail and when I took them out I cracked one. I decided then that I would either remove them all together or just get new replacements due to the fact that they seemed so brittle.
My question is if people installed two lower o-rings.

I did see one cacked in a rotor housing on a full brigde engine. I gather you took all four out right? Pri and sec? I wouldnt want to suck those in but I wanted to know feed back from who did it or if can be done.
So they will come off... i was planning to have them ordered from my mazda dealer!
did anyone make a spacer for the lower o ring in the clamp? machine a grooved spacer perhaps? I think the gap to replace the diffusers must be filled in with something no?
Thanks for the inputs!!

Years ago when going to 850s bored out to 1200 secondaries, I pulled mine inorder to put new seals on them. One had lost one of the legs so at that time I did not trust them anymore. I cut all the legs off and re-installed them with the new seals.
When you go 1600, they are totally removed.

If the injectors are a modded stock 850, the mechanics are the same and they mount the same as stock.
Aftermarket 1600s are mechanically different and mount differently.
