Yes, if you run over 14psi boost.
To save money, do not run one unless you actually get misfire under boost.

How much pressure is that in bars ? I have a T78 turbo kit and it's tuned to 1bar-1,3bar..

1 bar is 14.5 psi. Get an ignition amplifier. Based on my experience with Jacobs amps over the years, I recommend the HK$ twinpower.

As for the bar to pressure conversion it's always an argument. Many say 14.5, and some argue 1 bar = 1 atmosphere or 14.7 psi.

I have run jacobs on mine and never had a problem with it.. at one point i had 2 on the car and no problems.. one is sold and the other for sale only bc i have a completely different engine combo all togertehr now. Would use it again though. And it makes it really easy for running an msd blaster2 coil if you want to...

could a falty ignition amplifier (jacobs) have anything to do with my car having a hard time starting up? Once I get It started I have no problems running 1bar. Just the initial crank is not very reliable. I replaced the started, new battery, plugs, grounds, etc just wondering if it could be the amplifier now after reading people have had trouble with the jacobs. Thanks

I don't understand how this can be an argument. It's not something that is opinionated, it is a scientific fact that

1 bar = 14.503 773 800 7 pound/square inch

I'm curious who is contending otherwise?

I doubt it. You could bypass the amplifier and try to start it. I had a twin power short on me and it sounded like the car was trying to blow up! Unplugged the harness and BAM! Fired up normal. Another reason I like the plug in adapter to the Twin Power. Easy to make diagnosis of the unit. G
