I want to modify my NPR intercooler.
I went to Mazdatrix yesterday to drop off my new housing to be streetported and they recommended me to a shop behind their shop that does metal favrications. The guy wants 300 bucks to modify the end tanks of my NPR intercooler. What i wanted him to do is cut the existing tanks and make new ones with the inlet/outlet tubes sticking up!
Question!..
Can i have a welding shop or body shop do this job for me??..Can i just use thick sheet metals to make new end tanks or it has to be aluminum???.. and what size should the inlet/outlet tube be from the intercooler?????..
TIA

hmmm i see... well then i just have to look for a cheaper favricator to do the job for me. I think 300 bucks is too much. Heck i can get me a nice custom fmic for the same price.
