How much premix and what kind??

I was just thinking about starting to run premix and had a few questions.

How much premix is a good amount? Per gallon?
What kind is prefurred? Synthetic or not?

Do you guy's recommend disconnecting the oil injection?

What is involved in disconecting this?

Thanks.

The generally accepted ratio of fuel to premix is 100:1.

You can use pretty much any quality two stroke oil. People also use Marvel Mystery oil and Pettit's Protek (an expensive two stroke oil with pettit's name on it. ).

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to disconnect the oil injection, but why else would you be running premix besides replacing the oil injection system?

To disconnect it, just find the OMP, and disconnect the wiring harness connenctor.

1 oz. per gallon.
I use Redline 4 cycle oil and it seems to do the trick.
I have a 2nd gen, but on a 3rd gen, I think it's electronic, so you would have to disconnect the electronic part and make a block off plate for your OMP and plug the holes on top of the block that are now the oil lines.
That would be the best method.
You could just disconnect the electronic parts, but oil would still seap thru the lines.

the Royal Purple racing formula has less dilution than normal premixes. with no MOP use 4oz per full tank if you use the MOP than you only need 2 oz per full tank.
1oz per gallon is WAAY too much! on my race car i use 10 oz per 5 gallons of methanol.

Is the non-racing premix less diluted also? I am using the normal stuff, not the race kind.
