How much boost on stock apex seals..??

Hi

I want to know if anybody knows how much boost you can go with the stock apex seals. I have a T51 kai and is running 20 psi with stock seals. Is that ok or should I be carefull by doing that..??

Thanx

Stock seals will handle that no problem.

It is mostly dependent on the quality of tune you have.

I run 20-25 psi on mine no issues. I spiked it to 35+ lbs a couple times by accident. Ernie ran 31 psi on his GT42R which is bigger than your T51 with no issues and ray ran his 32 lbs all of a season with no issues. Its mainly in the tuning, motor condition, gas you are running.

I don't think the GT42R is bigger than the T51SPL. The compressor wheel inducer on the GT42R is 74.5mm, the inducer on the T51SPL is 76mm.

I know of five wheel trims on 42R's I can order 70/94(T51RKAI), 72.5/94, 72.5/102, 74.5/102, 76/102 Those are actual wheels not re-contoured ones. Ernie is running the 74.5/102 I do believe the SPL is 102 also. You can get 78/102's as well but those are not considered 42R wheels technically.

I thought he had a kai t51, but nontheless, both turbos are big and produce high volumes of airflow.
