ok i just got my first rx-7 10 mins. ago. it is a 87 turbo II and it has a blow off valve and exaust and thats it. but my ? is. how much boost are they supposed to have. cause mine has a boost guage in it and at about 6500-7k it is pushing 10lbs. and what is redline cause i hear about rotarys turning unlimited rpms but i think the guage says 7500 redline. im not sure about the guages im used to a hondas redline on the guage. thanks

 

No rotary’s cannot turn unlimited RPMs your redline should be 7K

Your exhaust is what is giving you more boost.

Look in to a fuel controller and walbro Fuel Pump and fuel pump rewire

 

thanks yeah i just looked at it. and it is 7 k so 10 lbs of boost is normal? with exaust. what kind of hp do these things got cause this thing pulls so hard it wil spin 3rd if i catch it right.

i am about to sell my crx i reall y bought this rx7 for resale but i love it. it pulls so much harder than any honda i have ridin in. thanks for the responces ppl

 

with all the supporting mods you could make arround 250 hp on stock turbo and ECU

 

nice, i think im gonna get it rebuilt and carry it to my tunner and get him to tune it for me. then i will upgrade the turbo and injectors and ****.

thats about all you can upgrade on these things right? injectors turbo intercooler and up the boost. im new to rx7's so dont flame me. thanks again

 

If you get it rebuilt you can also get the motor ported. Look into the different porting and see which one fits your needs.

 

yeah i really dont wanna port it cause im on a tight budget. but i have been talkin to a local rx7 mechanic and he says i really dont need to rebuild my motor. but he gave me a few things to try. im gonna try his suggestions and then i think im gonna rebuild it my self. i will start ordering parts and a book or video or something and try my luck at it. thanks to everyone
