Aren't the WG springs all the same for the Type-R and the Type-C WG's?
Pop open the actuator cover and see what color paint is on it?

Or if you have it mounted on the car already do what I did. Use a compressor to put air in a vacuum line connected to the top of the wastegate and hook up a guage in between. Then turn on the car and put pressure in the line and listen for the wastegate to open at idle. Again, this is only if you have already installed the wastegate and dont want to take it off, otherwise do what RETed said.

Type-C has a 20psi spring, Type R is probably a 1bar or 14.7psi spring..

There are three basic springs from Greddy. Actaully there are more but not listed here in the US catalog.

Type R/C(47mm) spring......Yellow......0.8-1.2kg
Blue.........1.1-1.5kg
Red..........1.4kg+(up to 40psi with this one)

There's also Type CH(56mm).....Light Blue....1.5kg+
Type CH Light Blue spring in a type C........1.7-2.1kg+

Ok guys i just took the top off and it has a blue spring. i went on Greddy site and they list the type c/r with blue/red spring, now does the type R come with the blue spring or is that an upgrade. Im asking because i scored a sweet deal off of EBAY i got it for 230 bucks and the company in japan parted it from a R34. They claim it was a type C but it doesnt look like the type C that they have on the Greddy site, but it does have the blue spring in it.

oh yea did they change up the look of the type C in recent years or should i just face it and say that i got a type R and not a type C
