HKS T51R Vs Garrett GT40r
OK guys
which one would you choose for a street/circuit 13Bt S6 and why? (for arguements sake they are priced the same)...

gt40r.
T51Rs are too big for 13B for circuit racing and/or street, albeit it has higher potential than gt40r. Put it this way.. T51Rs are like T70-T76(or GT42Rs), a step larger than GT40R.

If you're going to go circuit racing, a T51R is way too big and laggy. I am sure you can get away with using a smaller turbo, even smaller than a GT40, to compete well. But, since this is a track car, and you want to keep power at or near the top end, go with the GT40.

these "VS." turbo threads are really stupid... your best bet is to "search" and look at compressor maps to compare the 2.

Pete (rice racing) has posted some videos of a series 6 with a T51 road racing, the car did not seem hampered by lag, and could catch anything it could see This was a 3-4 minute in car video. Unless you driven that particular turbo on a properly ported car, you have not much to say IMHO. (unless of course you watched the video I did )
