This technology was developed in WWII. Nothing new here, just water and alcohol injection.

its actually a key to really releasing power from your turbo car. Water injection, done properly can release up to 30% more power from your car. Very few people do it properly though, and tend to just add it as an after thought.

Like nitrous, water injection won't always be there. It's nice in short bursts, but if you constantly have to use it to cool your car, then something else is wrong. I think we could live without a chemical intercooler and water injection.

What makes you say that. No reason you can't run a 15-20% water mix all the time.

There is nothing 'wrong' with water injection. Its just everyone is conditioned to intercoolers so don't look at the whole picture.

what he was meaning was you don't have it running all the time. you use it under certain conditions. there's too many variables that make it hard to use consistently. in order to use it all the time, you'd have to have a helluva pump and a big storage unit

There are no more variables to play with than for fuel calculations. And if you are using water to replace fuel above best power mix, then you can view it as an extra fuel tank. Think of the extra range you would get if you could tune for 13:1 AFR under all boost conditions.
