HKS racing wastegate question

Well I am about done installing my HKS TO4E kit and I wanted to ask a quick question about the wastegate, it comes with a racing wastegate with a 10psi (yellow) spring inside. Now I know that the side port is for constant pressure, and the port on top is for a boost controller.. but what is the point of the threaded **** w/jam nut in the center? Is the wastegate spring pressure actually adjustable? I haven't messed with it at all, I figured maybe HKS set it from the factory..TIA

Yes the wastage pressure is adjustable. If you tighten the screw it will compress the spring, which will make it open at a higher boost level. If you where to loosen the screw all the way the wastage would open at the spring pressure, in this case 10 psi.

I am not 100% sure but I think you want to adjust the wastage so that it opens very close to your desired boost level. The electronic boost controllers are more for convenience by allowing you to easily adjust the pressure. Some also learn the boost curve and optimize the wastage operation for better boost response.
