I just bought the Aquamist setup listed in the thread below for my single turbo build up . Absolutely couldn't turn it down at the price point of the group buy. I am building my car to run as long as absolutely possible.

Come on, you must have at least 5-10K miles on that motor don't you?

Regarding water injection, I have a new Aquamist 2D setup in the box that's never been installed. Maybe I should save that for my setup if I decide to go single. AZ'sFastFD3S... are you running water injection?

What are the benefits of the new Aquamist HFS-5 system over the 2D??

i have a wimpy ol 60-1 putting my car in the 370-380rwhp range. the motor has around (and probably over) 30k miles on it now. its been on the dyno several times (not this latest tune though. . . hence the reason i dont know the exact hp #), been to the strip once, but mostly street driven. . . and the more than occasional "blip" of the throttle.

i think the reliability of the swap revolves around how well you set it up. do things right, do your research, and dont be a goof when putting it together. . . basically, dont cut corners that really shouldnt be cut.

water injection can save you from popping your motor, but it wont save you from cooking your coolant o-rings or any of the other things to go wrong.
Too many variables to just say water injection will give you so and so miles. Depends on your tuning and if you remember to keep the tank full of water :P
Bad gas, injectors going bad, alternator crapping out and fuel pump not getting enough volts.

Many things to go wrong

and btw, im running either water injection or 50/50 water/meth injection on my t2!

I am leaning towards using some of the components from the FJO kit, but have my standalone controlling it. Still have plenty of time to change my mind though

lol we need pictures of him to constantly remind us who the enemy is Of course I would much rather it say spode though

edit: but on subject I have no miles on my t70 hbp yet but as soon as it's built and tuned it will be running with a coolingmist vari-cool setup and will be pushing 20-22psi. shooting for 500rwhp and hope to make it pretty reliable for a weekend warrior.

Not an FD but my old FC back in 1996 had a single(T-66), made well over 400 rwhp and it lasted well over 4 years as a daily driver to work, school, late night racing(hehe!) and some trips to Miami(I lived in Orlando at the time) every month. I belive I drove close to 60K miles before it was turned into a race car and the motor was transfered to another car where I lost track of it. I belive that the lower compression rotors helped. Of course the tuner/builder had a big part in its reliability.

Not sure about that. I'm not a political person, but it's pretty evident that he's ruining this country. I saw firsthand how our tax dollars are being squandered and pissed away overseas......

And rich, I think you're the first person to say anything about my avatar in the 4 or 5 years I've had it.
I thought that the expression on Bushs face pretty much summed up the amount of blabber that I spew onto this forum.
But mine is friendly blabber

Oh, and sorry about your thread Tim. Seems to have hit a slight snag :P

Spoken like an honest soldier. If one could only imagine the $$ you saw being pissed away go to help a Katrina victim. Nope.. Towards someone else's problems. Thanks for the reality check. Sorry for the hijack. G

the president does not run the ******* country.... he is a politcal figure, a speaker or spokesperson if anything... like the queen of england. (currently)

he does not make or write the laws. he basically puts a stamp on a paper that says he approves (and him approving or not depends on his party's decision)

think about it.... do you really think our goverment could give one man that much power...... that much power from the most powerful country in the world?

im sure in the past the president had a enoumous amount of power.... but definatly not in the last 50 years............. i dont belive in conspiracies.... but our goverment are shady *******.....

i dont blame the president for this war in iraq... ever............ i blame his party and the current government.

one man can never be given that much power..... especially if its been given by our government.

damn... this thread went off topic :]

Well I'm late to the party but if you guys don't mind me getting back on topic.....

FWIW, I currently have about 40k miles and 5 years on a RX6 daily driver setup running around 10 - 13psi depending on the mood my Profec is in at the time...... 320rwhp at about 14psi on a Mustang Dyno so that's supposed to be about 350 on a Dynojet. Driven every day from 10-degree days to 100+. Also wanted to add, though, that it's also been on the track a handful of times which I think helps prove it's durability. Running at WOT full boost for half an hour at a time is a lot different than squirting from stoplight to stoplight... Also autocrossed significantly and drag raced a couple times. Given hell on the street too, so it's definitely not had an easy life.

Just a fair word of warning since you sound like you're in the position I was in a few years ago. Blew my engine, turbos were worn out, decided to just go single. Had it professionally done and expected when I got it back it would be much like the stock car I left. It's been an expensive spiral ever since, tweaking out the aftereffects of the swap (burned wiring harnesses, ultimately having to ditch the air pump and cat, etc), but at the same time I'd do it all over again. I love the single. Just keep in mind you're probably going to have to be patient and proficient with a datalogit to ever get your car running again like it did when it was stock.
