High Oil Pressure
I have just fitted a T51R SPL BB turbo.
Its running a -4AN oil feed line (straight from the block, stock line totally removed) with a 1.5mm (0.059") restrictor as HKS suggested although, its not one of theirs. A -12AN drain line fitted to the front stock drain port.
At idle I`m getting around 50psi oil pressure and by 4500rpm I`m getting around 120psi. This is free revving as I`m having brake issues so havn`t been able to drive the car yet.
The only other thing is that the feed and drain are not quite vertical I`d say they are about 20 - 30 degrees off vertical would this cause the problem? Or is it fine as it is? Afterall I have restrictor etc in place.
This is not a standard pressure gauge so its not the gauge at fault

your overall setup seems o k.
the restrictor to the turbo would not influence your oil pressure even if you blocked it off.
if your oil is at operating temperature 120 indicates a problem. it is not unusual to see above 100 until the oil is fully warmed.
oil viscosity is a factor as to how long the oil takes to reach operating temperature.
i have a friend who recently made well over 900 rwhp on his 2 rotor methanol drag racer and he told me to use nothing but 5-30 weight. when he speaks i listen.
good luck,

Cheers Howard.
The oil I use is 5-40 weight and has just been changed. Its bang on 100psi while warming up then drops to 50psi when warm. The 120psi is with the oil warm ie. 60-70degress C
I had this issue with my old GT42 turbo aswell although idle was 35psi (more normal) Peaking at 120psi again around 6000rpm that time. So there must be an issue somewhere but I cant think where.

i am installing FJO digital logable oil temp and pressure units in my car this week and will find it interesting to note my pressure near the top of a run. i have never noticed...
someone chime in here as it would be interesting to know.
