hey, i'm the one with peters water injection nozzle. i had run it a while back and used it like him having the boost pressurize a tank and no electronics involved at all. on my new -RE engine i'm thinking about using a shureflo pump and have it activated by my ecu.

we'll see... it worked amazingly well in it's simplest form and there was nothing to worry about going wrong. but this time i really want to turn it up

I gave my car a run on the dyno not long ago to see where its at.

Its making 547rwhp(dyno dynamics) on 30psi

Stock cosmo engine(has been rebuilt and dowelled but 0 porting)
GT42 Bush bearing.

Mixtures are in the low 10s.
Car is 100% reliable starts first go everytime.

I will be doing more tuning in the next fortnight as their is alot more power in that tune with some changes here and their. It should be able to do high 500s or even 600 on that boost.

For anyone getting ready to make fun of the Hp figure, on this dyno, a few years ago when my car was not what it was now, it was making JUst over 400rwhp and run 127mph. So almost a 150rwhp increase and hopefully after doing some more tuning work almost 200rwhp increase, it should run in the 140mph area on pump fuel and do it reliably with normal pump gas AND NOT E85.

yes sir the dynamics read low as ****. that's what i always tune on

aren't you on the ausrotary forums too? you are using the RICE water injection right?

30psi is probably only with 3 or so degrees of timing right? don't need much

Very impressive numbers here. how much water are you injecting? Im betting the water injection is only part of the setup, care to share some other tricks? Im curious to see what kind of timing numbers you run.e

Had a semi sucessfull year at the track last year. 6 lapping days and lost an apex seal part way through the last day. I was running straight 91octane and suspect either an excessively worn spark plug or a bounce off the rev limiter. In any case ive got a round of mods that will certainly help with cooling;
1. water injection setup, using this as insurance, likely not going to change my tune for it and only run a small jet ~250cc/min of 25%alcohol.
2. revised oil coolers, ordered a fluidyne DB-30616 to replace a B@M as my second cooler, Im still using stock as my main cooler.
3. Denso IRE01-32 leading and IRE01-34 trailing plugs, replacing NGK R6725-10 plugs.
4. Going to take a cue from Busted7 and fab up some heat shieding for for the LIM and UIM
5. going to trade out the ceramic wrap for ceramic coating

Gonna see what happens, great thread going on here it sparked some ideas

im not use Rice Racing water injection.

At this point in time i am injecting too much water

I am using a 1150cc jet(I am guessing as to why the horsepower figure is abit low).

I will be getting a controller to dial off some water slowly and to see what happens.

As for the dude that posted up pics of those ports.

Thats Rice Racing ports yes? His engine work is very nice. Not many people can port like that and his design is spot on.

FD_neal.
Get rid of the alcohol. Run 100% water.
And bump your jet up to 550/650cc jet. reliability problems GONE!

Oh and another thing.

Go on ausrotary.com PM RICE RACING

Get a set of his greddy PLUGS

THESE ARE HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLUGS I HAVE USED, they are very hard to foul, they dont fall apart. Everything else i have used is **** in comparison.

Also what ignition system are you using?

where do you inject the water?

and you say stock ported -RE, does that also mean you have the diffusers still in the rotor housings as well?

The Denso IRE01 plugs are the same design as the NGK R7420's which I believe are the same as the greddy plug. The only reason I went with Denso's is i can buy them in less than sets of 4. I wanted to run a colder trailing plug this year, making sets of 4 something of a waste.

I run an MSD 6 amp and MSD 2 post coil on the leadings, Trailing is stock other than the plugs. In the past ive always ran with NGK R6725's but im hoping the iridium's last a little longer.

Not alot of guys over here run the good plugs, they are hard to come by and expensive. But being able to get them in the right length and heat ranges makes them worth it to me.

Ill order a few more jets to play with, I had my setup ship with a 250cc jet. Im guessing 2 250cc jets would work as well or better than 1 500cc? Whats the reason to not run the alcohol? I thought it was benificial to have.

I have run the Denso IRE01 plugs, they are good but they have a much smaller Iridium tip, have not had one fail yet but they look much more fragile than the NGK R7420, the other bit I don't like about the Denso is the screw on top, apart from that they are not a bad plug.

haha i don't doubt you i was just wondering if you kept the stock diffusers in the -RE ports they just seem so damn restrictive. i'm happy you're making power on them!

Oh the exhaust ports.
I didnt use Cosmo housings. Used S5 housings so i have the normal diffusers in the exhaust ports.

speaking of high boost. Both kilo and the guys from world wide racing don't want to tune my car or feel uncomfortable tuning to 500hp on a t70 using a bosch 044 w/ a boost a pump. would anyone else have a problem with this fuel setup supporting enough high boost on pump gas for 500hp?

Both kilo and the guys at world wide are bad *** tuners one of which is the king... I just don't think they like bosch 044's for some reason but I think you are right this setup should support 500hp.
