Really interesting Read. Currently got a GT3574 running just shy of 14psi on a rebuilt stock port engine. Trying to investigate running higher boost levels on UK 99ron petrol.

Not for the 95ron standard stuff, its running at an average of 112.5p/lt ($2.088/lt). Super which is 99ron is on average 119.5p/lt ($2.21/lt). Diesel is even worse !

Exchange rate is getting worse so its looking worse !

1st gen on LPG is 52p/lt ($0.96/lt) which is better but still expensive !

Sorry guys. Not using RR water injection, although its a great kit.
My kit is alot simpler and obviously not as good.
Basically the jet i use does not atomize as well as one of peters kits.
But i have another jet i will be testing soon that will flow even more water and atomize alot better.
As far as water goes, ive found thats it not only the quanitity of water, but placement of jet, and atomization that gives you the full effect.
I could have just bought one of petes kits but i seem to enjoy learning the hard and expensive way!

ya i don't have his kit either, only the nozzle he makes which does exactly what your trying to get. pure amazing atomization which is what we need like you said.

either way, your running pre-turbo right?

i think this is a very good way of putting it. i can't seem to stress this enough when people say Rx-7s are not reliable.

just finished reading the whole thing and this has to be one of the most focused and ****-free threads i've seen in years. i like it and though i do share Busted7's philosophy/approach, i still picked up a few tidbits that i never thought of.

well done to all and thanks to classicauto for starting it.

Its going on two years since putting the car togeather and its still a thrill to get in the car after it setting for weeks and starting it and letting it warm up, and then getting used to the car trying to find the ditches and curbs!

The last time at the track about 30 days ago at the midnight drags started with an 11.20et and followed with 3 10.90's with a soft launch of 1.68 60ft!

Ive been invited to go to Texas y2k9 in march the supra meet but those things scare the hell out of me!

For those running the WI do you retune the fuel maps to pick up extra power? Or just add water and leave the maps alone. What effect does the water have on AFR's?

water doesn't affect AFR's. I've not gone back to back on the dyno with WI on, then off, as I didn't reach that point on my last session, but depending on the amount sprayed water shouldn't negatively affect power, it should add a bit on its own. But as I said I've yet to do a back to back on my car on the dyno. Back to back on the street the only change i notice is cooler EGT's.

The afr;s are 10.8/11.4.
Just 93 pump gas and premix.

It does not affect afrs as far as i can tell.

But i have done back to back tests and it definitely changes EGT's a huge amount. I am able to screw in another 6-7 degrees on boost ram up from 2-10psi without EGTs going out of control.

I could lean the afrs back off more then i have but their is no need. It only makes marginally more power(keep in mind im using crane cdi so its burning most of it anyway) and it leaves a good margin for cold nights, heavy load, things i cannot account for in the ecu(primitive microtech).

As for the person have the same jet as peters, have you set it up like peters jet? Using boost to give the jet a cone, and then using the boost to pressurize the tank to push the water out to the jet?

Or have you run it differently?

koyo radiator, with water wetter

intercooler blanket for the hoses! and did the oil mod to the car

oh and i did a mod to myself that has the fans run 24/7 no matter what

ever since then ive had no heat problems ever!

thanks BUSTED7

I could put a kit together for you. You have to let me know your Target HP so i can work out what water you need.

Kit would consist of

4L Tank
Jet
Pipe With Jet holder to suit Pre-Turbo (with Weld on -6 fitting welded on)
Water Pump
Solenoid

The water can be triggered from your ecu or boost controller.
