help with turbo desision............

ok i have a S4 t2 that i am gonna rebuild with a large street port. my goal is at least 400 hp and still street able, i belive this is reasonable goal but im kinda new to the turbo-charged car scene. i am stuck between the

Garrett T4/60-1

COMPRESSOR SPECS:T04S
.70 A/R HOUSING
60-1 TRIM WHEEL
TURBINE SPECS:T4
.96 A/R TANGENTILE HOUSING
V-BAND DISCHARGE
oil lubricated centersection. for use only with external wastegate.

OR

HKS T04E

COMPRESSOR:
-Wheel- 57 Trim - 56.3 Inducer / 75.0 Major
-Housing- 100 Inlet / 60 Outlet - 0.60 A/R
TURBINE:
-Wheel- 62 Trim - 74.1 Major / 58.1 Exducer
-Housing- T04 inlet / Insert type outlet - 0.70 A/R

so im looking for something with not a ton of lag, but good response, and able to reach my hp goal.. any help is great...

The top one. Good price and good power. I know, I have it. Except opted for water cooled. You may want to as well.

with a large streetport the 60-1 should spool fairly quickly, and give you the higher HP numbers out of the two.

The to4e is still a good turbo too though, you wont make *quite* as much power with it, but it will spool faster.

BTW... Search, This has been taked about over and over again.

60-1 or 62-1 would both be great choices. Plus they should be cheaper to buy and rebuild than a T04E would be. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help, but my project is set up to be running higher numbers than what you want. Best of luck.

i would go with the 60-1 as well. You wont have to push it as hard to make ur power, and id much rather deal with a little more lag than a shortened turbo life, lol
