Help me to pick a street turbo

Hi, I'm a newbie for single turbo. My stock twin is getting tired again, I guess it's finally the time for SINGLE. Can you guys help me to pick a turbo? The car (FD) is my daily driver. I want it to have the fastest spool as possible, since I won't do drag racing or anything in that nature. My area has a lot of mountain, so top speed is unnecessary. My goal is only a mild 360 whp, just enough for me to beat a ferrai 360. Also, I'm still a student, so please consider the $$$ issue for me as well. Bottom line, I want a single turbo which has super fast spool and economical. Thanks guys.

Apexi Rx6. spools just as fast as the twins. I made 355whp with mine on a non-ported motor at 14.5psi. The car ran mid to low 12s'. Awesome turbo for the street and the simplicity of the single is far superior to the twin turbo mess.

i used to have a turbonetics 60-1 with .96a/r worked great for me spools reasonably and yet there is more room to make power at 20psi it feels just sick (flat out scary) and you can get them in ball bearing plus smaller a/r to spool quicker

The 60-1 is a good choice, just like the RX-6. The T04E in BB format would be an excellent choice. Also, keep the 62-1 in mind as well. Something to keep in mind is the A/R of the turbo. Keep it under 1.00 Somewhere around .84 to .96 would be a good choice for what you are wanting. Best of luck to you.

I have a Rx6 and I did a 11.4 at 123 on street tires.

Spools fast, and I dominate autox's and track days.

I was hit by a drunk driver, and now the car is toast, but I bought another fd with a blown motor, and put my old motor into it. The new FD had a Blitz kkk27 kit on it. I heard that they are a good turbo($4500 retail), with more potential than the rx6 but with nice boost curve. It is like new and polished, if your interested, I will sell everything you need for cheap, with gaskets, blitz BOV, air filter, wastegate, everything.....

dude, plan to spend about 10k on a single turbo conversion. more if your car is bone stock. so economical is not really possible. it really doesnt matter which kit you purchase, depending on what kit you purchase you may be able to shave a grand off the 10k or add a grand to it. its all the misc. **** you need to buy that adds up. do tons of research too.

I think that a "student budget" FD is going to be hard to do well. In going from a stock FD to a single turbo, you should count on spending around 10K.

I'd recommend something from 0.84 - 1.00 A/R... A T04S would be really nice IMO.

u know what why dont u put together a kit by ur self based on a hks 3037s or 3037r
havent seen anybody use one yet.
