Have a laggy turbo and a few extra minutes?

I'm designing a new anti-lag system for my senior engineering project and I need some consumer feedback for the paperwork part. It is very unlikely that I would actually develop this for production; I just like experimenting and trying new things with my car.

If you have a big and/or laggy turbo, take a min to fill out this survey and I will post some pics/vids when I get it done. PM your results, I need to get 30 responses!

Thanks!

done

I bolded my answers.

I think the price people are willing to pay would depend of how well it works. And instant 18psi at 4k rpm on a giant turbo would be worth more than haveing a few pounds a "little sooner"

Here you go man. Im in the exact same field as you at Northern Illinois University and I am starting my senior design project next semester. I plan on doing something similar but we'll see if the school approves. Best of luck in your project. BTW, have you ever done FSAE?

The answers are in RED as well.

Good luck, it has been A LOT of work so far... I have always wanted to do FSAE but I have both full time work and school, what little time I have left over is spent building the 7.

Well, I was planning on doing this with a special brushless electric motor powered by capacitors, but my advisor keeps shooting it down citing time and budget constraints. My backup plan is to build the system like I was planning, but with an auxiliary turbine using CO2 in place of the electric motor. It looks like I'm going to have to upgrade to electric later in my own free time.

I could really use a few more survey responses! If I could get a few more I will just extrapolate the results from there...

Hmm, I thought the brushless DC motor shafted through to the compressor nut and a sprag clutch would be nice as well.

Another option that I know has been proven is water (steam really) injection into the exhaust pre turbine.

You could have a system that pumped water into a copper coil wrapped around the downpipe to vaporize it and then a solenoid valve that vented that into the exhaust with full throttle application.

I am thinking vaporizing the water before injection would help prevent thermal shock that could happen with direct water injection as has been experimented with before on this forum.
