GZ LIM users, Any mods need to be done to the oil filler neck?

I haven't tried to install the oil filler neck yet, but since the LIM moves the UIM forward towards the middle of the engine, it seems like it won't fit without modding it.

Thanks,
Silvio

I had a blowtorch taken to the oil filler neck to soften it when it was installed, and bent it foward to fit with the GZ LIM.

No problem, Boostn7 did that when he installed it on my car.

You can pysically turn it (oil filler neck)with pliers if you grab the metal base near the block. Rotate it about 15 degrees and it will fit.

Not with the GZ LIM that I got. The stock oil filler neck (plastic) touches the UIM (throttle body cable component). So even if you turn it, it won't fit.

The inlet needs to be clocked downwards a bit.

I went with a second gen oil filler neck, turned it about 15 degrees and cut the neck and re-welded it so it would actually point up a bit more. Even with doing this, the inlet is only about 1/2 inches away from the alternator:

The advantages of the LIM are well worth the mods that need to be done, in order for it to fit. IMOP. CJ

Ill try to explain how we do it. We cut out a wedge of plastic to the center of the
filler neck. Then with the wedge removed we, heat the plastic that is left slightly,
so the neck will be bent over and close uo the wedge hole we made. Then we took a soldering iron with a flat tip and just melted the remaining slit closed. It just makes the neck tilt forward and it looks like stock. I hope I explained it pretty
well? Ralph
