gt4o a/r .85

hey guys just wondering how a gt40 with an a/r .85 would spool on my fc.

i have a 87 turboII with stock ports. just purchased 1680cc secondary injectors and plan on using the stock 550 primarys. I already have the haltech e8 ems and apexi boost controller. planning to boost 14 or 15 psi.

it would spool it and give you about 2-3k of usable power

even with an a/r of .85 you dont think it will spool very fast. it will also be a BB turbo.

3 general problems with smaller housings is they restrict the exhaust more making less peak power, they contain the heat more which raises EGT's, and they tend to feel a bit flatter in the top end especially at higher boost levels. For more reliable power I'm starting to lean more towards the larger exhaust housings with a slightly smaller compressor side if spool is an issue. A .96 is considered small for the Aussie guys. But I imagine there is a lot of factors that can change depending on wheel designs and such. On my old turbo I ran a .84, on my new one its .96 and it spools slower but the whole turbo is much bigger so it's hard to say what had a bigger factor. I don't think I would have noticed much difference in spool just from the housing change.
