Did anyone have a problem with their spring being too heavy on their 44? Did you guys switch it out to a softer spring maybe a 10lb one? I'm having problems regulating my boost to 15 on this kit.

I ran on wastegate (disconnected the BC) only and i was boosting past 16 and climbing, of course had to let off. All connections are correct, i read the tial box and it had a 14+ spring in there?

Huh??? I guess I'm laughing because I have been planning on getting an FD for about 3 months now, and I am not any closer to purchasing one now than I was 3 months ago... If/when () I get one I plan on paying it off then beginning to mod it.

Ya my Tial came only with the 15 lbs spring. I wanted to run atleast 15 lbs all the time anyway so it worked out fine. It was creeping to 16ish.Glad to hear a few kits are close to being done. I know theres more out there

Triangle power, why did you stop the engine at 7K? I feel that there was more power there given from the way the curve was rising. Awesome torque curve btw.

I think he's posted previously it had to do with not having large enough injectors.

Here's a pic of my engine bay with the manifold and the turbo in, amongst some other stuff.

Also a quick pic of my dual fuel pump setup and my Blitz intercooler.

Look at the graph, like rich was saying, he goes lean at that mark,so he had to let off...i wish the graph showed the boost analog as looking at the torque curve, it showing a boost creep higher then 15 right?, boost measured is all where you take the readings from on the dyno, if you take readings from the map sensor, it will differ 1-2 lbs then if you take it from the manifold source(which is actually what the motor is getting). Suprised nothing happened on pump gas alone with your a/f almost to 13.0 at the lean spike, but then again, depends on the wideband too, and the max hp and tq numbers are represented by your lean spike, not a clean pull to 8500K...a better true number would be shown with a clean pull with no a/f spikes and boost creep.

I did run out of injectors last time. That won't be an issue next time. I'll have an updated graph May 1st

Ok, here's the update as promised.

Last year made 437 rwhp and 340 torque @ 16lbs. Injector duty cycle near 90% on 4x 720cc injectors and had to stop. Now running a full KGParts setup, rails, fpr, etc. 750cc x2 and 1600cc x 2

Today's best:
447 rwhp and 358 torque @ 18lbs. Fuel concerns were taken care of, duty cycles were no higher than 61%. I've always wanted the car to be quiet so I've been running Racing Beat's catback. Well, it just couldn't keep up. Definitely choaking it.

You can easily see the lines getting closer and closer towards the top, just can't flow enough. I can live with that as I value whats left of my hearing more than those last 20-30 hp.

I was under the impression that the GT3574 was a happy turbo at moderate boost level 15-18 psi. But HOLY HELL does it go crazy when you let it rip at 20 psi + . Some other owner who is a little more setup for it, please push one of these bad boys at 20-22lbs. The turbo just goes crazy

very table top torque curve...best looking torque curve I've seen on a 13B; must say that is one reason I bought this turbo.

After purchasing the turbo (should have been a bolt up affair) I've changed many aspec's of my set-up ...I should be able to get this up to 20psi, but don't hold your breath for me, as I'm months away from fire up/break in/ & tune

Choaking? Basted on what proff? That exhaust was recenty on a rotary powered vehicle making well over 500rwhp. That thread is floating around here somewhere.

That exhaust runs quieter for sure, and I'm not doubting that it can make power on a car , but we did see a loss of 10+hp peak a few years back on a customers car who just thought his car was just too loud and we switched over to it. He didn't mind though he was happier with the quieter exhaust he also picked up a few in the midrange not much 2-3 if memory serves was quite a ways back.

Man I can't wait. I bought this turbo couple months back and has been waiting for my appointment to get it installed.

I'll be dropping off my car next weekend during rebuild and turbo installation. I just can't wait to see how it'll turn out. =)

Andy,

Very nice set up in all and good luck! Just one concern i saw and i guess that other people seeing it might also agree with me. You wired two fuel pumps to the oem connector. There is no way to run both pump on the stock wire. I use a gauge ten directly from the battery ( fused) to a 150Amp relay, and i use the stock wireing to trip the relay to on. The oem wire is not rated for 60A plus per pump. Its just my 0.02c But i thought it fit to point it out to you. I would run a seperate supply line. I wouldnt want any over heating wire, or burnt relays or failed pumps....

Best with all!

George
