Aspec GT3574 kit

5 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

I got my GT3574 kit from Aspec last week. I figured I'd post some pics for everyone. Looks more or less like most of the other pics I've seen of Aspec's kits :). Overall I was very pleased with Aspec's customer service and the quality of the product. They did send me the wrong size turbine housing, but that is being remedied quickly.

It will probably take me a couple of months to get everything into the car, but once I do I'll poast some pics.

The picture of the miscellaneous parts on my living room floor is just to show the downpipe. All those other parts aren't necessarily included in the kit.

Just for kicks, here are a couple of pics of my kgparts fuel system. Looks like Rich and I are doing almost the same stuff at almost the same time :). We'll have to race.

Lol, you still need the GZ LIM and big-ass turboback exhaust ;).

Everything looks great man, good luck with the install!

RussTII 11-26-06 04:07 AM

It's a plain bearing 35R with similar wheel sizes to the 35R. 74, as in turbine wheel exducer. Here's a quote for you from the guy that sells them:

Ours also uses a larger more rotary friendly 74mm turbine as opposed to the 68mm turbine of the standard 35R. This offers a very nice 1.1 wheel ratio as well as slightly increased flow out the turbine.

Here is a comparison

GT35 76mm comp, 68mm turbine.
GT35R 82mm comp, 68mm turbine.
GT3574 82mm comp, 74mm turbine.

As stated above this was a need that definitely needed filling as I get more emails about non-bb 35R's than anything else. So there you have it :)

RussTII, Gotham Racing sells stainless steel OMP lines.

Ditto on what Goodfella just said about the turbo kit. Go check out the A-spec vendor forum. Zero has a pretty long post about it in there. It was quite a bit cheaper than a 35r kit at the loss of a little response.

On the OMP lines, I actually got them from rx7store.net, but Gotham also sells them. I did get my oil pan brace from Gotham.

I'm betting with the setup you have you lose zero response to the typical 35R setup. I think you'll be very pleased with the results, keep us updated.

looking good.

damn its nice :) mine is in the shipping right now :):)

Broken09 11-28-06 07:45 PM

Looks nice. Can't wait to see what numbers you get.

Triangle Power 11-29-06 07:48 AM

Hey Guys,

The GT3574 is a badass setup, the overall Aspec kit for this is sexy. I was able to hit 437rwhp and 340 torque @ 15lbs boost. This is on the .84 housing for added response. I'll be back after winter with some additional fuel and crank it up to 17 lbs. 450-455 should be no sweat. Torque curve is tabletop flat and rising.

Anyone with any doubts of this turbo, throw them out the window, it rocks!

Oh quit being modest you bought two kits Mr. big spender. Both should be there pretty soon.

Always coming up with something new...lose nothing, except the water lines.

Zero R 11-29-06 03:53 PM

Not true, they are setup for wet centre's, I wouldn't want anyone to feel cheated. ;)

Except the water lines? What does that mean?

dubulup 11-29-06 04:15 PM

so, I guess the biggest advantage is...it's rebuildable???

It is also my understanding, non BB CHRA's are capable of holding a higher boost...any truth to that?

nothing, I was wrong...I thought since there were no BB's it wasn't water cooled. But I guess you could only run oil...I've seen this done...would I? probably not.

Ok, now I get what you were saying. Actually, I'm planning on ripping off Atilla's idea to drill/tap the water neck and use stainless steel braided lines for the water.

tnutty 11-29-06 05:03 PM

dumb question but is this kit smog legal?

You're getting a bigger (by 6mm) turbine exducer vs your typical 35R.

With the shorty manifold you can fit an airpump, so yes, it can be.

WanKeL FD RX-7 11-29-06 06:19 PM
