GT3574 Dyno results: stock port 10AE

Hey guys. I just got my car back from A-spec where I had them give everything a once over and tune my GT3574 setup. The car is setup as following:

88 10 AE original 50,000 miles 115/115 compression
Stock ports
GT3574 regular runners
microtech LT12
J spec intake manifold
Greddy spec V front mount 2.75" piping
550/1650 injectors
parallel fuel setup with surge tank
walbro feeding surge tank, 044 pulling feeding high pressure
3" down pipe to dual 2.5"

At 15 PSI the car laid down 423 RWHP and 349 ft-lbs torque

^ I agree. Have fun with it!~

I want some HP like that... :-(

Will the Irons hold up to that?

Right on! Rotary Power!

my 88 engine was tough. the irons took a lot of detonation. the only reason i got rid of them was because I had a chipped coolant passage

the stock ports are definitely giving you a flatter torque and powerband

Well if you notice the run is cut at 7k. Without additional mods to the engine it was recommended I not take the RPM higher or push much more HP out of it.

It also made this much power with a bad intake leak at the base of the lower manifold. The A-spec guys think it might have rolled 430-435 had it not been leaking during the run.

all stock internals. But the car has had a VERY easy life. All stock except for a cone filter and the boost set to 7 psi on the stock turbo the car went 14.2 @100

The car is not my daily driver and I just got it back so I've had it WOT 3 times. A Spec didn't go too aggressive on timing or leaning it out. It seems this motor just wanted to make some power.

Why the hell are so many kids afraid to push the stock engine ??
This isn't like the first person to get decent HP out of a stock block, stock ports etc

Pushed 340rwhp out of my old stock block for a good 6 yrs before I decided on a change.

Well done again to the original poster, enjoy the power

because of the misconception that the rotary is "fragile" . it's fragile when it's tuned incorrectly... or more often the case - not tuned at all.

(by tuned I mean both ecu and supporting mods)

^very true

Also, S4 blocks are notorious for cracking the rear iron when pushed to this kind ofpower level.

A spec mentioned the rear iron when I asked how the stock internals can take the power. Basically with 425 to the wheels I'm getting border line but it should be fine. Push it to 450ish and there would be more concern.

As for the seals, provided there is no detonation there should be no problem. The combustion pressure with boost would be far less than one good detonation. With the 044 and surge tank setup there is no fuel delivery issues. With the 550/1650 injectors I was using ~75% according to Ryan at A spec.

Great numbers! The 3574 really is a nicely matched turbo for 13B's.
