Greddy T78 turbo i need opinions an personal experiences

Well my turbos are done. so i have been debating on getting a greddy or hks. but hks is pushing my budget. i want to know what psi you run your T78 and how much it cost you. If i could even get a ball bearing turbo? Becuase the only website i found a good deal at was vivid racing but the thing is the discription sucked. And the greddy site sucks too. i would appreciate it alot for the help.

These days people are moving away from the old Greddy and HKS kits because of the low performance per dollar. They are very expensive for what you get.

t-78 is not ball bearing ... what exactly do you need to know about the t-78?

There are few sets brand new and used on the forum and you can get it for a good price

If you want a well priced kit, get an A spec or RX7store kit. The Greddy and HKS are nice, but definitely costly unless you buy used.

so in your opinion what other turbo do you think would be a better quality for the buck? I hear ball bearing turbos are so much better?

I have a Gredyy T78 on my track car and I like it. Since it is old technology, journal bearing... I can have it rebuilt significantly cheaper than a ball bearing turbo. If it was a street car, I'd want something that spooled faster... but then again, if it was a street car I'd have sequential twins. As for ball bearing turbo's, I really like the GT35R.

I've got the T78, i make 450 at 18lbs, but I'm on 1250cc's of meth injection and a streetported engine. It should be higher a but an apex seal when through the turbo so it needs a rebuild. but it still plants you in the seat thats for sure.

David Hayes' 20B turbo is a T78 with ball bearing, how did he get that?
