GReddy T-78 spooling........

I have heard that the greddy t-78 spools around 3800 on a street ported motor is this true? Anyone runnig this kit on a street ported motor when do you see full boost and how many pounds are you pushing?

I have a mild street port and was looking at the greddy T-78, i was wondering when this kit would see full boost an estamate is all im asking for.

i love it. if you can deal with the lag, then you will have one helluva car! i drive it all the time on 16psi, which gave me 439rwhp and it's really fun. i've got over 4k miles on the kit since the install and i'm sure you'll have no problems, unless you like power under 4k

im used to high reving hondas with no power anywhere lol! but yes im used to it being all up top you know the v-tec thing. im looking for somthing that pins you in the seat, can give me enogh power to top out the car and be taken to the track along with streetable performance. t-78 right?

do you know how well mazda trix 2mm 2pc apex seals hold up under this (t-78) kind of abuse? thats what my motor was rebuilt with about 8-9k ago

The 2 piece is pretty good but i would not go over 17-18 psi on them. I know of a guy boosting 20 psi on stk 2 mm 2 piece, but i would not do that.

Im going to boost about 18 psi on a TD06H-25G and im looking at about 450rwhp. I might even get the sam hp at a lower boost, but im not sure until it's been on the dyno. It's just street tuned now.

I would go with the 3mm seals. When tunning I had detention in my car. The 3mm seals saved my motor. The seals survived and compression is fine. 2mm seals would have broke.

Full boost by about 4500rpm, get the T-78 its a great turbo. I will admit I have nothing else to compare it too, though. Running 13 psi and I have 3mm seals, one piece corner seals and dowell pins. I suggest dumping your wastegate, it sounds great, plus doesn't it add a bit of power?

I admitedly do not know much about rotaries but, wouldn't having a larger exhaust port cause exhaust gasses to slow down and the turbo to spool slower?

T78

i have a large streetport on s4 rotors and get 15psi @4,000 and 18-19 at 4,300. like most know it is a laggy turbo, but hang on after that.

if your interested i'm selling it and going back to something that spools more like 3200.

pm me

Racing my freind, racing. It's great for the track, and gives me about 450rwhp. And that's enough for a FD to outdrive almost eny track car.

I was on gotham racing and saw the hks to4r kit for 4k and saw it maid 450rwhp @ 15psi and I think it would have far less lag then a T-78 with about the same amount of power. correct me if im wrong because ive never driven a car with either kit on it. Which kit do you guys like more?

People always crying about lag. and Boost by 3200rpms..

I think the (lag) isn't so bad, when you are putputing around town
and not wanting to boost..

And who races their FD, whether it be drag or track, Under 4.5K anyways???

You might have mentioned this before Jantore but forgive my bad, what boost you're running now and what kind of spool are you seeing on your TD06 25G? I've just got the TD006-25G installed but still some time away from having the car back on the road as my post 95 harness may have some prob with my PFC.

I've seen a q-trim T70 with a .94 a/r in the rear put down 450ish at 15psi, and a TO4S at 14.7 psi put down 430 rwhp both on large street ported REW's. I imagine a nicely tuned T78 should put down around 480 rhwp at 15 psi.

Interested in a T78 myself. Wondering if Ceramic ball bearings or othere turbo mods would help spool time. I feel that 4k is about right for serious power too. What are we driving here...V8's

trust me when i tell you guys the lag is really not bad at all. Just be in the right gear and you should be fine. if you are trying to start a race before 3k rpms, you are in the wrong gear anyways. If you drag race you will almost always launch in your power band or you will bog. if you track the car you are always about 3k anyways. if your trying to race from a roll and are at 2-2.5k rpms you need to take the time to learn how to drive before you commit to a single turbo.
