Greddy Evo catback and single turbo(GT3540)??
Hy there,
I was wondering if the 70mm piping of the Greddy EVO catback would manage good exhaust flow when I would go for a GT 3540 single turboo in the future?
I'm not a fan of the big bore exhaust and dito noise they make.
It would not maken any sence having a front to back exhaust system in a bigger diameter and then cutting it back to 70mm in the end.
Just something extra, if I would choose a twin catback custom system would twin 63mm piping do the trick?

The EVO is a reworked Power Extreme exhaust. I believe the piping diameter is all the same. Ari Yallon made a 10 second run with the PE. I run the PE with a GT4082 and it's just fine. I'm sure I could gain a bit of hp with something like an Apexi GT or one of the race Ti exhausts. I however, like my car fairly quiet. Allows me to "get on her" without getting too much attention from cops The EVO and PE mufflers sound exceptional as well. Stay away from the N1 dual...too loud and sounds like poop. Generally speaking, larger diameters after the downpipe (turbine really)are better and make more sense as they allow the gasses to exit faster due to increased volume. That increased volume allows the gasses to expand and loose temp/velocity, but much of that is killed when the exhaust hits the turbine.

I'm almost curious to hear how it sounds. I have the PE, but I took it off in favor of the PFS CB. The PE was just too damn big. I had it with the twins on an open exhaust and liked the way it sounded, but it somehow shifted and started to melt my bumper. I may put it on just to see how it sounds.

I'm considering the EVO for the low noise rate and relative deep tone it seems to give. I'm not into screamy cars and like to keep the neighbours happy

I don't think Ari runs the PE exhaust eventhough it looks just like it. From my understanding, it is a racing exhaust from greddy that is "off road use only". I have the same exhaust when he and I used to race together. It comes with the midpipe/silencer and is 3.75" all the way back from midpipe to CB. If I remembered correctly, it was around $1200 for the exhaust back in the day.

Thanks for the correction and you would definitely know! There was some writeup which stated he used a GReddy PE...either that or it was a GReddy ad. But we all know those damn journalists never get anything right! (wink, wink..)
I think if I were to go to a new exhaust today it'd be the JIC Ti or the Magnaflow Ti. The GReddy Ti is much cheaper but that company has rubbed me the wrong way too many times.

wether the Greddy is for off road use or not is not reaaly important, I'm in Europe
and noise level for checkpoints is abour 95-98dB so it will pass I guess.
