Ok I am looking into my new turbo for my car I currently have a td06 20g gives good power low end but I am lacking that super punch at the end. Anyways I wanted to know if the T78 will be a bolt on to the orginal setup I have which is just the manifold and dp it came with I have 2 1/2 ic piping . I am new to turbo swaps(I bought the car with a single turbo so I dont know exact dimensions of everythig) so any help is appreciated. Thanks alot. Also Greddy's website was'nt that helpful when it came to specifications.
I'm in the same boat. I'm almost positive The T78 won't bolt on...I can tell you can go to a 25G compressor housing for about 700 maybe less that should allow you to push into the mid 400 range maybe more..I'm talking to a few companies now that can do the conversion...I'll get the info to you if your interested.
I'm having a hard time getting any real answers about the td06-20g turbo performance, Just curious what kind of boost/power/1/4 trap you are getting...I can't seem to get more than 12lbs @ redline...yet I trapped 118mph @ 12.4 with a crappy launch which compares to a similar run I made a long time ago of 11.7 118mph on slicks on a non-seq setup..the day after I dynoed 380hp 330tq....even when I turn up the boost I'll see 17lbs taper down to 12...type r wastegate everything tight and right no leaks etc...just wondering if I hit the limit of the turbo. With boost controller off 12lbs....with the waste gate screw on the type r all the way in 12lbs...am I missing something? I have a very open system....water injected/traction control.
Thanks for any info.
