I have no experience with the hybrid, but it doesn't really seem worth it. A GT40R should meet your goals. On stock ports you'll get more lag regardless what turbo you go with. My 40R with a 1.19 A/R made 15lbs at 4300 rpms and 430 rwhp on a small street port (similar to stock). I'm confident that it could break 500 at 20 psi or so. Another turbo to consider is the 3574...

Just go for the GTX35R. It will deliver the power you want. And it's a great little turbo.

I would be curious to know how this is done. I have looked into previously and it would take some serious work and be extremely time intensive and expensive. It would be a great combo however.

You would see about 500rpms difference in spool time between a GT35R and GT40R. Remember the GT40R is a big shaft turbo( extra drag there).

Yeah, about 300-500rpms I would guess. Both are streetable turbos. It's all about defining your goals. If top end power and peak power potential is more important to you, go with the 40R, if spool is more important, go with a 35R variant.

I actually think the TD61 similar to what I'm running would work well. Same GT35 compressor wheel mated with a T4 divided hot side and larger turbine wheel. I'm running a 1.0 AR and I can tell you it flows very nicely. Pulls like a ***** down low. Mine made 439 RWHP at 16.5 psi, so you'd probably be near 500 RWHP in the 20-21 psi range. The GT35 compressor wheel starts choking off just North of 500 RWHP, so if you want more power than that I'd recommend the GT40. A little laggier as Elliott has mentioned, but gives you more power on the top end. It all depends which is more of a priority to you (low end power and spool or higher end power potential).
