Is a garret t-4 to small?

for my 3rd gen? A guy at a local shop offered one to me for a killer price and i was thinking about using it down the line? I am not sure of the compressor sizes (but i know the exhaust is divided entry?) Thanks for helping out a noobie.
Darron R.

I did search (alot) and found little to nothing on the t4

T4 is just the flange size... there are at least 20 different turbos that come with that size flange so saying T4 turbo doesn't really mean much.

Yeah see if he can give you some more specifics ?

I run a T4 on a T2 ported motor and in street trim it makes over 470rwhp, I am not sure what your are aiming for but a T4 can be specified up to over 550rwhp if it is in T04R trim.

Get some pics if you can and post them, I am sure you will get lots of feedback form multiple users of this type of turbo.

I have to get some pics today, as well as some specs! I am shooting for high-mid 11's in street trim? But i don't want an all out "drag" car. I just like chewing up turbo civic's (ecspecially since i had one, ssshhhh!) Thanks so far and i will reply with more info.

the turbo is a precision turbo, its a t04e. i am still not sure whether i want to use it or not because the exhaust is only a .58 ar with a 3 inch outlet and the intake is a .70 ar with a 4in inlet. it is a ported turbo and a real good price. Would this be suitable for an upgrade? I noticed the xs kit for the street has a to4e turbo, are they the same? Thanks for your help, to all who can!

Sounds like a good turbo but your going to want to put on a larger turbine housing. Price out a larger turbine housing and add that price to the cost of the turbo and then decide if it's worth it for a used turbo.

That exhaust a/r is way too small. You need like 1.0 a/r

Wow, that's a BABY turbo! That thing would do good on 2.0 liter 4 bangers...like an sr20det. Your engine would CHOKE though...

Get a MINIMUM of a/4 .84 exhaust housing.
