FMIC compadiblity?
Does anyone know if the FMIC from a 1988 Mitsu Starion can be used to cool a 13BT (86-91) ?
Its supposeed to be rated to 14 psi

Spearco uses a cfm rating to indicate the point at which their product incurs a 1.5psi pressure drop. This has nothing to do with detonation or the amount of boost you can run. It is a simplified pressure drop (restriction) rating, and you can run more or less boost than the rating. Spearco supplies charts for better pressure drop planning.
Other vendors may use a psi rating to indicate the product's burst pressure, or any other statistic.
For those who believe intercooler "psi ratings", I market my Evil P1PE intercooler, which is "rated to 40psi". I am willing to sell them at the low cost of $800 including shipping. Here is a picture:
