Talking Finally placed my order. Quick ?

OK...well I finally got around to placing my order for my T78 kit. I was wondering about the engine wiring harness, what do I do with the plugs that used to go to my solenoids? I assume you cannot cut them off but do you just leave them in there? Seems odd? I am hoping to begin the install late this month but I just want to know of anything important not to forget. Where does the SX FPR mount?

You just let them hang there. We mount the FPR on the front side of the upper manifold.

Thanks. I assume I nee extra fuel line to reach the FPR? How does the stainless line hook up with the factory metal fuel rails? I am new to upgrading the fuel systems. All I have ever done before was the Pump. Now I have all sorts of **** to learn. Anyone know of a good place to learn Fuel System Installations 101?

If you never plan on installing your twins back on then you can just cut the extra connectors off.It helps for a nice clean engine bay.

hmmm...101...i learned on my own on this one. i passed the class though, but i still have one damn AN fitting that will not stop leaking and i cant figure out why. its not that bad of a leak, but it is still there. coming from my prefilter to my pump. (not in the engine bay )
it realy is not that hard to learn. you do plan on doing larger secondaries....dont you? send me a PM and i can try to help.

I ordered the FD3S Secondary fuel rail with Bosch 1600cc injectors from Jason. I also ordered an SX FPR with -6AN fittings. But I still need to learn some of this stuff before I try and install it all in my car. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott

I remember seeing someone unwrap the complete wiring harness and pull out the lines that are not needed individually. I think i might try this on my own, even though i can find the site again. I figure there are at least 12 connectors i will no longer use. With the fuel system, i'm in the same boat you are about being my first time here in the next few months. I'm not to worried about this messing up, just read every old post you can about fuel set-ups.

Aside from this you will need to tap the primary rail with a 1/4" NPT, and get an AN fitting adapter on each side. If you want to keep your oil injection system (like I did) you will need a 90 degree 1/4" NPT to -6AN on each side of the primary rail to clear the oil injectors.

I am not sure which pump you are going for, the SR ultimate is a nice pump and relatively easy to install I hear.. if I had something bigger than my TO4 I would go for that one, but my little Denso is working for me. Regardless, if I were you I would run -8AN feed from the tank to a y-split into two -6AN lines up near the rails. Feed each rail with it's own dedicated -6AN line, over to the regulator, and then run a -6AN return back to the tank. Of course I left out the fuel filter in there, since the K&N has been discontinued I went for an Aeromotive filter which uses AN fittings. HTH some..
