better pics of the blurry tag and some of the exhaust side.
little clearer pics. and the last one, i belive is the CM on the housing..
BTW the brown stuff is not rust, its a anit rusting coating they put on them, that was put on too heavy in those places.

You might find trouble controlling boost using a internal gate (maybe not). Your going to have a hard time finding a manifold that does not have an external gate (could always plug it though). The only non external manifolds I've seen are from the early HKS Sport Upgrades.

Yes I plan to weld the internal wastegate shut, and use a 44mm tial or equivlant.
the stock wastegate spring is i belive 20psi, so its uselsss anyways, and to add to it, the factory wastegate only vents 1 of the divided sides.
i have no clue how it controlled bosst originally,
if you notice in the pics the wastegate can is already gone ...

Very nice turbo my friend. But correct me if im wrong, if you close the internal wastegate the Turbo will go on full boost. So my suggestion is either remove the flapper inside or leave it wide open. Also how much did that snail cost?

I know you can get them without external gates. I just wish it were easier to find them. I have a friend who works for Cummins in NC during summers (they have a ton of Holsets at that location), maybe he could get some information at some point.
Could you measure the inducer and exducer of both wheels? I have read a lot of conflicting information about the sizes of the wheels on those things. Also, those housings actually look smaller than I expected. That 17 cm^2 housing looks significantly smaller than the 1.00 divided, .96 undivided, and 1.31 divided I have owned for Garrett turbos.

the turbo exchange in concord nc is a good place to start when you have holset question. they have helped me out a ton with holset. im running a WH1E and i welded the internal wastgate up. dont buy a cheap OBX or any of the other manifolds from ebay because the turbo will hit the shock tower. and make sure you get a good sized wastgate because im running a HKS satndard and im creeping like crazy.

well i just bought a OBX mani for a temp mani, to build off of or modify to work. i know it may hit in a FD, but this is going into my FC.
i have heard alot of differnt stories on how this will spool, i have heard they spool faster than they should, but i am running stock ports.
when i compared the wheel sizes, they are about the same as a GT40 P trim, but the gt for has different blade counts on both wheels. the holset has more blades on both the compressor and the turbine.
so yea i dont know when i will have full boost, but ill let you know after i get my spacer made for the flange, and a waste gate, build my oil lines, and down pipe..lol
seems like a lot to do, but it shouldnt to be too bad.
