FD single Turbo kit - eBay - Thoughts

I am a noob when it comes to aftermarket turbos, manifolds and kits. I hear a good FD manifolds and other kit components are hard to find and expensive (Aspec comes to mind). This sounds promising (aside from the wastegate dump) on a price comparison basis.

Can someone please point out what this kit overlooks in terms of being comprehensive. My intent for the car is SCCA Solo in SSM (competitively - yes other issues need to be address for this, but I am focusing on the power/turbo setup in this thread specifically), occasional track day/HPDE/TT, and weekend driving.

I have heard a good Garrett unit for my application would be something like a GT30R or GT35R. How does the unit included here compare? One "flaw" in the unit offered is the non-ball bearing unit.

ecu/fuel/engine/exhaust setup is currently:
* Apexi Power FC ECU
* 850cc Injectors
* Nippondenso 280lbs/hr Fuel Pump
* Turbo-Back 3" Exhaust Catless
* Racing Beat Twin Tips Cat-Back
* Apexi Ram Air Intakes
* ARC Stock Mount Intercooler
* Coolingmist Water/Alcohol Injection

Well by reading his description he doesnt know what hes talking about. He says a two bar map sensor will only push 14.7psi??? Throws up a red flag in my book right there.

i wouldnt do it, A. that turbo can and most likely is fake and just a a chinese hunk of junk. B. that wastegate is a hks knock off and will most likely fail. Word of advise, dont get a single turbo kit just because its a good deal, if you wanna go single do it the right way first and you will save yourself a lot of money and heartache in the end. Go with a reputable vender for a kit if you wanna go that route ie. aspec, turblown, rx7store etc.

I never heard of "turblown" checked there website and they have some quality parts!
But there aren't any price on there turbo kits but i emailed them, there fuel system looks nice too.

Actually, that part is correct. A 2 bar MAP sensor will read from absolute vacuum to 1 bar above "atmospheric" pressure. That's a span of 2 bar.

Remember that most operation on a street vehicle is with the intake manifold pressure below atmospheric. That's the 1st bar of its range. The 2nd bar takes you from atmospheric to 14.7 psi of boost.

Old thread but maybe it will help some new guys. Stick to the guys that know what they are doing with single turbo kits. There are plenty of us on here (Turblown, A-Spec, myself, and a few others) that have years of experience doing this stuff.

How does someone like that have a perfect rating on EBay with lots of good feedback if he is a crook?
I guess the stuff last long enough to get the feedback, then it's to late to give bad feedback. Need a fix for those kind of sellers.
