Experts required.....

I am looking to upgrade my turbo kit. I currently have a XS To4e and I am looking to move up to either GT35/40, HKS T51-R or T04R.

Does anyone know what parts I can keep and what parts I must get rid off?

Manifold
Turbo
Wastegate
Down pipe
All Lines and fittings / Gaskets
Block off plate set.

Lastly are there any fitment problems with any of these turbos?

35/40 is a T3 footprint. You'd have to change manifolds.. If you go to a bigger turbo that's TO4, like the R, chances are you can just swap the turbo.

Same with the T51R Kai series - it has it's own V-band connections and does not swap with the T04 flanged turbo exhaust manifold.

Wow, that is such a generic question.... and a huge range of turbos. As stated above:

The T04R is going to be the only one of those two options that has a chance of bolting up to your setup. Who know if it'll work with your exhaust.... depends on the flange type of each turbo... V-band, 4 bolt, 3 bolt?

You may need new water/oil lines with the GT35R or the HKS again depending on the type of fitting/flange bolt pattern.

If you are concerned about replacing more than just the turbo get the T04R... or consider teh GT40R from A-spec.

I am concerned about what I can keep and what I must get rid of, in other words do I really need to buy a whole turbo kit?

I don't care if I have to change everything out I just want to know..that is all.

Thanks for the responses.

The TO4R is about the only one you will have little hassle swapping. The T51-R and GT35/40 on the other hand will require alot more. Both require a new manifold, the manifold sold for the T51-R makes it so you have to run an HKS 60mm GT v-band wastegate. Some oil line may need different fittings, not sure though.

The choice just depends on what you want and how much work you want to put into it. I would say...most power, biggest hassle=T51-R. The other two are about equal power, so....fastest spoolup, bigger hassle=GT35/40 and slower spoolup, little hassle=TO4R

They sell a flange that goes from 4 bolt to V band, so you might beable to use the t51. Your downpipe would also have to be modified too. But with that big of a turbine you are going to want the manifold to be as big as possiable.

Hard to say, or even make a wild guess at.
What type of engine porting, and what kind of boost levels do you plan to run? (assuming all the other necessary components are up to the task and included)

The engine has stock apex seals and no porting..I was going to street port this spring or summer.

Boost I was thinking 24 psi at the highest.
